This magical key grants access to nearly every locked door throughout the expansive game world. However, the path to obtaining this essential item begins with finding the elusive Bottomless Pot. Finding and Entering Edina Castle
As you set sail on your ship, acquired after delivering Black Pepper to the King of Portoga, your immediate goal should be to secure the Ultimate Key. While various quests beckon with excitement, focus on pinpointing Edina Castle to make significant progress in your adventure.
To reach Edina Castle, start from Skyfell Tower, known for the battle against Robbin ‘Ood at the beginning of your journey. Upon acquiring your ship, navigate westward to locate it near the tower. Set sail northwest; a quest marker should indicate a nearby island. Edina is situated on a small island just northwest of Skyfell Tower. Upon arrival, you’ll face a challenge: the guards will not allow you in. Your options include learning the Fade spell from Mages or acquiring a Fading Jenny to gain access. If you’ve learned the Fade spell, simply cast it to bypass the guard. Alternatively, if you possess the Fading Jenny, sail southwest to reach Lanson, procure the item, and return to Edina to gain entry.
Solving the Edina Rock Puzzle
Upon entering the main section of Edina Castle, descend the first flight of stairs on your left, where a nun marks your destination. Here, you’ll encounter the Edina Castle rock puzzle.
Should you find yourself perplexed during the puzzle, stepping outside will reset it. If any rock falls into the water, a prompt will ask if you wish to reset the challenge.
While the puzzle isn’t overly complex, it involves multiple steps. For illustrative guidance, refer to the video provided. Here’s a breakdown of the steps to solve the puzzle:
- Step 1: Move the left rock up one square and shift the middle rock one square to the right.
- Step 2: Navigate around the bottom of the left water square, pushing the left rock two squares to the right to align it with the path to the goal. Take care not to push it too far!
- Step 3: Push the left rock into the goal position.
- Step 4: Make your way around to the bottom, then push the right rock down one square.
- Step 5: Shift the middle rock three squares to the left. It should now match the starting position of the left rock.
- Step 6: Push the left rock one square north, navigate around the bottom of the left water square, then push the rock two squares east before finally pushing it north to the goal.
- Step 7: Circle back around the bottom of the central blocks and push the last rock north one square. Then, shift it four squares west to replicate the initial position of the left rock.
- Final Step: Push this final rock one square north, move around the bottom of the left water square, and finally push the rock two squares east before pushing it north into the designated goal spot.
Acquiring the Bottomless Pot
Completion of the Edina Castle rock puzzle unlocks a hidden room at the back of the puzzle chamber. Venture into this new area and open the treasure chest to obtain the coveted Bottomless Pot. With this item in hand, proceed to the Shallows Shrine to continue your quest for the Ultimate Key.
