Exploring Wood Gathering in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete shares numerous gameplay elements with its earlier iterations in the Animal Crossing series. One notable aspect is the collection and utilization of resources to craft various items, such as furniture and clothing. In Pocket Camp Complete, players use these resources not only for crafting but also to construct and enhance tent amenities, which, in turn, beautify the campsite and entice new animal visitors. Wood, in particular, plays a critical role in the construction of these amenities and the creation of furniture.
However, unlike other titles in the franchise, such as Animal Crossing: New Horizons, acquiring wood is not a straightforward task in Pocket Camp Complete. Although the game is populated with trees, these do not serve as a source of wood, creating a unique challenge for players seeking to collect this essential resource.
Where to Find Wood
Build Friendship Through Requests
To efficiently acquire wood in Pocket Camp Complete, a strategic approach is to cultivate friendships with specific animals. Elevating an animal’s friendship level to three unlocks rewards such as Bells and various crafting materials. Different animal types will yield wood as a reward, offering flexibility in your campsite selection. Should you find that your current animals are not providing wood, you have the option to replace them with those who do.
The list of animals that can reward players with wood includes
Alligators, Cats, Chickens, Frogs, Hamsters, Rabbits, and Squirrels. Personally, I find Cats to be the most beneficial to keep in my campsite, ensuring a steady supply of wood. Remember to engage with these animals by speaking to them when prompted and fulfilling their requests to boost your friendship.
Be attentive to notifications alerting you to animals eager to interact. These animals typically have three requests that involve seeking particular items from you. Meeting these requests helps consolidate your friendship and advocates a rewarding cycle. Additionally, sending gifts to your campsite residents effectively increases friendship levels while enticing more rewards in return.
In addition to fostering friendships, players can also complete Stretch Goals for wood acquisition. Although Stretch and Timed Goals are one-time completions, they are a great starting point for new players; for instance, picking up five seashells can result in a reward of 30 pieces of wood.
It is worth noting that while previous versions of Pocket Camp allowed for item trading among friends, this feature is not available in the Complete version. Nevertheless, many engaging new features await exploration. Moreover, players can occasionally collect wood from the Shovelstrike Quarry.
Understanding Wood Usage
Crafting Amenities and Furniture
Unlike other resources, such as cotton, that you can utilize to create clothing, wood primarily serves to construct tent amenities and furniture. These creations are quintessential for enhancing your campsite’s appeal and attracting diverse animal visitors. Although acquiring wood might take extra effort in certain aspects, it proves invaluable in the long run, necessitating careful accumulation.
Do bear in mind that selling wood yields only 10 Bells per piece, making it far less advantageous compared to keeping it. Items such as the Street Set, Rock Stage, Tree Swing, Merry-Go-Round, and Tree House demand between 30 to 50 pieces of wood just for their base structures, and you’ll need even more for their subsequent upgrades.
Cotton, another valuable resource, should be collected in tandem with wood, as it too is essential for crafting furniture and amenities. Speaking of furniture, much of it in Pocket Camp Complete requires wood for creation. For instance, varying amounts of wood are necessary for different items; a picket fence might only call for six pieces, while a more complex white lattice fence requires up to 120.
Remember, while wood cannot be used for crafting clothing, numerous other materials can yield garment options, and you can also import custom designs for added creativity.
To leverage wood for crafting amenities and furniture in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete, select the Craft option located in the bottom left corner of your screen. Browse through the various items available, noting that most will also require Bells and other resources. With numerous furniture and tent amenities dependent on wood, maintaining a substantial supply is prudent. It’s advisable to hold onto your wood rather than sell or dispose of it.
