- XBox Series X users can choose between two modes: Graphics and Framerate, both supporting a resolution of 3840 x 2160.
- The Xbox Series S is limited to a maximum output of 1920 x 1080 at 30 FPS due to hardware constraints.
- PlayStation 5 users will experience similar performance settings as those available on Xbox Series X.
Monster Hunter Wilds recently shared its performance benchmarks for Xbox consoles, addressing concerns from fans anxious about potential performance issues on the Xbox Series X and Series S. Following a lukewarm reception of the demo, Capcom has clarified how the game will operate on both systems.
The Monster Hunter Wilds demo, released in mid-August, presented several challenges, particularly regarding frame rate stability. While the demo was deemed playable on the PlayStation 5, players expressed mixed feelings about the Xbox version. Feedback indicated uncertainty regarding the game’s ability to maintain a target of 60 frames per second, with some participants noting that the performance seemed capped at 30 FPS during gameplay. Fortunately, Capcom has now confirmed the performance specifications for Xbox Series X and S.
According to insights shared via Monster Hunter’s Twitter account, Xbox Series X users will have the option to select between two modes: Prioritize Graphics and Prioritize Framerate, with both modes achieving a resolution of 3840 x 2160. However, in the Graphics mode, the internal rendering will operate at 3072 x 1728 and cap at 30 FPS. In contrast, the Framerate mode will render at 1920 x 1080 while delivering smoother gameplay at 60 FPS. This clarification addresses many gamers’ concerns ahead of the game’s release in February 2025.
