William Yoder emerged as a key figure in the investigation surrounding the tragic death of 60-year-old Chiropractor Mary Yoder, who was poisoned in her residence in New York. The inquiry into this case ultimately identified Kaitlyn Conley, the girlfriend of Mary Yoder’s youngest son, Adam; however, numerous questions persist regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident.
This case is the focus of Hulu’s new docuseries, Little Miss Innocent: Poison. Passion. Prison., which examines various aspects of the situation, particularly Kaitlyn Conley’s narrative where she maintains her innocence.
The series debut took place on Friday, September 20, 2024, on Hulu. The synopsis outlines the premise as:
“Tells the story of Kaitlyn Conley, a 31-year-old former receptionist who asserts she has been wrongfully convicted for the 2015 murder of Mary Yoder, her former employer and the mother of her ex-boyfriend Adam.”
Although Mary Yoder’s murder appeared to be resolved, there are ongoing concerns regarding Kaitlyn Conley’s conviction. She continues to profess her innocence, and suspicions have also been cast on William Yoder, particularly given his behavior after Mary’s passing.
Who is William Yoder?
William Yoder first met Mary while both were pursuing degrees in Chiropractic Medicine at Life Chiropractic College. Although William was a year ahead of Mary, they formed a strong connection from their initial meeting.
After completing their degrees, the couple married and had three children: Liana, Tamaryn, and Adam. They continued their respective practices for years before establishing their joint chiropractic clinic on Oriskany Boulevard.
The family-run clinic, named Chiropractic Family Care, garnered significant popularity, evolving into a prominent local practice. As their children matured, they enjoyed a successful business and appeared to lead a charmed life. During this time, William authored two books, Lighted Clearings for the Soul: Reclaiming the Joy of Living and The Happy Mind: Seven Principles to Clear Your Head and Lift Your Heart.
This idyllic scenario changed dramatically when Mary began experiencing stomach pain on July 20, 2015. Tragically, she passed away just two days later at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center.
Investigations later revealed that Mary’s death was caused by Colchicine poisoning, which triggered a homicide inquiry.
William Yoder’s Quick Move On After Mary Yoder’s Death
Mary’s death unfolded amid significant drama, including an anonymous letter implicating her son, Adam, and allegations of Kaitlyn Conley’s potential involvement.
However, something that raised eyebrows for investigators was William’s swift romantic involvement with one of Mary’s sisters. Despite their long-standing marriage, William reportedly moved on just months after Mary’s death and began living with her sister.
With no concrete evidence linking him to the crime and Kaitlyn under greater suspicion, William was eventually ruled out as a suspect. Yet, his name resurfaced as advocates began to question Kaitlyn’s conviction.
Due to the allegations surrounding him, William opted for a private life, disappearing from the public eye following Kaitlyn’s trial. He is believed to still reside in Whitesboro but has remained largely out of sight for the past few years.
With the release of the Hulu docuseries, he may once again become a person of interest in this case.
