Overview of December 2024 Update for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind
- Enhanced player movement mechanics.
- Rebalanced Zord and Megazord stages.
- Available now on PC and PlayStation, with Xbox and Nintendo Switch updates expected soon.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind has rolled out a comprehensive patch for December 2024, addressing gameplay enhancements based on user feedback. Despite a quieter year for Power Rangers news, the release of this game by Digital Eclipse has reinvigorated interest among fans. The narrative follows Robo-Rita, who teams up with her past self to thwart the Power Rangers during their first assembly in 1993, offering a nostalgic connection to the franchise.
Since its launch on December 10, the game has received favorable reviews for its engaging retro-style beat-em-up combat and vivid homage to the MMPR universe. Nonetheless, players voiced concerns about the gameplay dynamics, particularly the similarities in the playstyle of the six Rangers and the fluctuating difficulty level of the 3D shooting segments leading to Megazord confrontations.
In response to these concerns, Digital Eclipse introduced its first significant update for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind earlier this week.
#RitasRewind players, we’re refining gameplay, per your feedback. Faster movement, smoother combat, more forgiving Zord stages & more! This December update focuses extensively on improving player mobility. Each of the Rangers, including the unlockable Green Ranger, benefits from increased walking and dashing speeds, the ability to dodge without cooldown, and can now release grappled enemies while evading attacks. Additionally, health-restoring items have been distributed more broadly across the game’s levels, and the timing mechanics during Speed Run mode have been adjusted to improve the experience. Players can also switch characters at the Juice Bar without navigating back to the main menu.
The patch also brings substantial changes to the Zord and Megazord gameplay. Players will experience easier jumping mechanics due to reduced gravity, more frequent spawnings of health items during battles, and diminished damage from enemy attacks, resulting in a more balanced gaming experience. Enhanced stability and bug fixes, particularly for PS5 where save file issues were affecting replayability, round out this update.
