  • Clive Rosfield from Final Fantasy 16 joins Tekken 8 as the latest DLC fighter along with the Phoenix Gate stage.
  • This update enhances online features, including player search capabilities and the introduction of penalties for disconnections.
  • Adjustments for hitboxes and collision detection were implemented to improve game balancing.

Released on December 16, 2024, the Tekken 8 Patch 1.10.1 introduces several exciting features for fans. A notable highlight is the addition of Clive Rosfield, the main character from Final Fantasy 16, as a playable character. This update also includes a new photo mode and enhanced functionality for online gaming.

Clive, who debuted in a trailer during The Game Awards 2024, is the fourth downloadable character in Tekken 8’s Year 1 Pass. His introduction coincides with the launch of the Phoenix Gate stage. Players who purchased the Year 1 Pass gained early access to both items on December 16, with general access set for December 19.

Apart from the new character and stage, Patch 1.10.1 includes significant improvements to the gameplay experience. An updated photo mode now allows players to customize character appearances with effects like grime and moisture while offering flexible options for altering expressions and gestures. The photo mode now supports frame-by-frame adjustments at an impressive 60 frames per second. Additionally, the newly implemented player search feature enables users to find and connect with friends or rivals using their usernames or TEKKEN IDs, enhancing the social aspect of online play.

The new patch also implements a penalty system that penalizes players who disconnect from ranked matches by reducing their ranking points. When a point reduction occurs, players will receive a notification in the main menu. Additionally, following up on previous patches like 1.08 and 1.09, this update included refinements to hitboxes and collision detection for better gameplay accuracy, benefiting various characters like Heihachi, Paul, and Eddy whose attacks previously faced issues.
