Delta Force Guide: Correctly Calling In Artillery Support

In the dynamic universe of Delta Force, players are not limited to traditional small arms and vehicles. Particularly in Warfare mode, they can harness a variety of fire support options and logistical drops. One powerful tactic available is to call in an artillery barrage, a strategic move that can significantly disrupt or entirely halt enemy movements.

While the process of calling in artillery may seem straightforward, some players may not be familiar with the technique. This can be detrimental, as executing artillery strikes is often essential for completing daily missions and event challenges. Let’s explore how to effectively utilize this vital support in Delta Force’s Warfare mode.

Mastering the Artillery Barrage in Delta Force

To initiate an artillery strike, players must default to the 5 key on their keyboard. This brings up the support menu, providing a range of tactical options critical for securing victory. Besides the Artillery Barrage, players can access other supports such as a smokescreen, a vehicle drop, team respawn beacons, and potent cruise missiles.

Once you select Artillery Barrage from the menu, your operator will activate a tablet displaying the current map layout. You can then target a specific area where you want the bombardment to occur. After a brief wait, the shells will rain down, causing destruction and potentially eliminating any foes caught within the blast radius. However, be mindful: artillery strikes do not function in underground settings like Shafted or the C sector of Ascension, though cruise missiles can still be utilized in those maps.

Before calling in an Artillery Barrage, players must accumulate sufficient points. Points can be earned through various team-beneficial actions or by inflicting damage on enemies. For those looking to quickly boost their score with minimal effort, taking on a Support role is ideal—contributing by resupplying, healing, and reviving teammates can yield substantial points. Conversely, for those who favor a more aggressive playstyle, weapon choices like the SG552 for Assault and Recon or the PKM for Engineers are highly recommended for securing kills.

Strategically, to maximize the effectiveness of an Artillery Barrage, consider targeting enemy reinforcements. While shelling an objective under attack can be useful, the real advantage lies in placing strikes just behind enemy lines. This ensures that your artillery not only disrupts freshly respawned opponents but also those attempting to advance, giving your team’s snipers and flankers a distinct edge.
