Destination X is an exciting new adventure reality game show that NBC is set to launch in 2025. A British production company, Twofour, part of ITV Studios, has been confirmed to produce both the UK and U.S. adaptations of the series in collaboration with NBC and BBC. Previously, NBC and BBC partnered on another successful show, Traitor, hosted by Alan Cummings. Announcing the news, NBC has revealed that Jeffrey Dean Morgan, renowned for his phenomenal role in The Walking Dead, will be hosting the inaugural season of Destination X.
The official synopsis for the show states:
“Viewers will follow contestants as they embark on the road trip of a lifetime, but they have no idea where they are. In order to win, they must figure out their mystery locations.”
Jeffrey Dean Morgan to Host Adventure Series Destination X
Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been officially announced as the host of the new reality game show Destination X. This marks the debut of the acclaimed star, who is best known for his role in The Walking Dead.
Corie Henson, Executive Vice President of Unscripted Content, Competition, and Game Shows at NBC Universal Entertainment, expressed that Morgan’s charismatic presence and international appeal make him the ideal choice for the show’s host.
He stated:
“Jeffrey Dean Morgan embodies the mischievous international man of mystery, making him the perfect host and puppet master for this new travel adventure series. He’s dashing, charming, playful, and the ultimate travel companion!”
During a press conference, Morgan expressed his enthusiasm for Destination X, stating he looks forward to joining contestants in this intriguing guessing game. He remarked:
“Destination X captivated me with its blend of travel, mystery, and gaming. I can’t wait to embark on this wild guessing game across the globe as Master of Ceremony, navigating players through challenges that test their mental and physical abilities.”
In addition to hosting, Morgan will also serve as an executive producer for the show alongside Andy Cadman, Caroline Davis, Dan Adamson, and David Clews.
Upcoming Details about NBC’s Destination X
NBC Universal has confirmed that Destination X is slated to premiere in the mid-season of 2025. Production is expected to begin towards the end of this year, with Universal Television Alternative Studio partnering with Twofour to co-produce the U.S. version of the program.
