Diddy’s Lawyer Claims Cassie Ventura’s Attorney Offered $30M for Book Rights

On September 16, 2024, Sean “Diddy”Combs, also known as Puff Daddy or Puffy, was arrested on serious charges including “racketeering, s*x trafficking, and transportation for the purpose of engaging in prostitution,”as reported by People. New revelations surfaced during his arraignment hearing on Tuesday in Manhattan, where the music mogul was denied bail.

According to court documents acquired by the publication, Diddy allegedly organized “freak offs,”wherein he coerced women into engaging in prolonged s*xual acts to satisfy his desires. Prosecutors referred to these “freak offs”as “elaborate and produced sexual performances”orchestrated by the rapper.

During the hearing, Marc Agnifilo, Puffy’s attorney, pointed to his previous relationship with ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, who filed a lawsuit against the rapper in November 2023 for physical assault and s*xual abuse. He claimed that Ventura’s attorney had contacted Diddy’s legal team to disclose that she authored a book and was offering it to the rapper for $30 million.

He further addressed Puffy’s bail situation, stating:

“This is a slippery slope. The Government will argue that she [Ventura] was coerced – she had to make those claims to pursue the $30 million. We have a robust bail package. I hope your Honor can recognize that Mr. Combs has demonstrated behaviors that indicate he is trustworthy.”

Marc Agnifilo asserted that Ventura, referred to as “Victim 1,”had consented to participate in the “freak offs,”which were claimed to be an extension of Diddy’s established relationship guidelines with women.

“Is it s*x trafficking? Not if everyone involved is willing. We aren’t better served if the federal government invades our private lives. That’s exactly what they are doing by involving themselves in Mr. Combs’ personal affairs,”he added.

Cassie Ventura’s lawsuit against Diddy was resolved the day after the case was initiated, with the rapper denying the allegations. However, a disturbing video was released in May 2024 showing Puffy physically assaulting Ventura at LA’s InterContinental Hotel in 2016, leading to a public apology from him on social media.

Prosecutors assert that Diddy’s 2016 assault on Cassie Ventura occurred post-“freak off”

According to The Daily Mail, Emily Johnson, the assistant U.S. attorney, indicated that the assault on Cassie Ventura in 2016 allegedly took place after one of the “freak offs.”The attorney claimed Diddy attempted to bribe hotel security “with a handful of cash in exchange for silence.”

Johnson also stated that the video evidence was erased from the hotel’s internet servers only to emerge again in 2024. She argued that Diddy denied all allegations until confronted with the video, which she deemed indicative of his unreliability.

Meanwhile, Marc Agnifilo contended that Combs is innocent and was traveling to New York to “prove his innocence”at the time of his arrest. The attorney vowed to assist the rapper in winning the case, emphasizing:

“Mr. Combs is a fighter – he will fight this until the end. He is innocent. He came to New York to demonstrate his innocence. He has no fear – he’s determined to clear his name, and we believe in him wholeheartedly. He didn’t commit these acts.”

The prosecution alleged that Combs constructed a criminal enterprise involving crimes such as “s*x trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.”Court documents also revealed that Diddy allegedly “threatened and coerced women and those around him to fulfill his s*xual desires.”

Authorities reportedly uncovered three semi-automatic rifles, ammunition, and 1000 bottles of lubricant during a raid on Diddy’s Miami mansion on March 25, 2024. Sean Combs, who has pleaded not guilty, was denied bail and will remain in custody. If convicted, Puffy faces a potential sentence ranging from 15 years to life in prison.
