Diddy’s Text Messages to Ex Cassie Exposed in Court Hearing Following 2016 Hotel Assault

On September 18, 2024, Sean Combs, popularly known as Diddy, appeared in court to contest the denial of his bail release. U.S. Attorney Emily Johnson argued that Combs should remain in custody, presenting alleged text messages sent by Diddy to his ex-girlfriend Cassie. Johnson brought forth texts from 2016 and advocated for Sean Combs to be held without bond.

Johnson recounted a disturbing incident from 2016 at the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles, during which Combs allegedly assaulted Cassie. This incident was previously documented in video footage shared by outlets including CNN.

Additionally, as reported by XXL Magazine, Johnson alleged that a “commercial s*x worker”was present during the assault on Cassie. Following the incident, Diddy purportedly implored Cassie not to report him to the police.

The prosecutor provided further evidence, reading Diddy’s messages in court:

“Immediately after the assault, the defendant sent the text messages, ‘Call me, the cops are here…I got six kids…Yo, please call I am surrounded…You gonna abandon me all alone.’ The defendant was aware that his actions could prompt a response from law enforcement.”

To provide context, Diddy has faced multiple lawsuits from women accusing him of s*x trafficking and various forms of assault. These allegations escalated following Cassie’s lawsuit against him in November 2023.

Emily Johnson’s Court Claims: Diddy Allegedly Used Victims’ Explicit Footage for Blackmail

As Diddy returned to court, after his bail application was denied, U.S. Attorney Emily Johnson intensified her arguments against his release. According to The Shade Room, Johnson asserted that Combs filmed his victims and subsequently blackmailed them with the explicit footage.

She also mentioned a viral 2016 video in which Diddy appeared in towels, claiming he was involved in inappropriate activities just before the assault. Following the incident, when Diddy began texting Cassie, she replied expressing the severity of her injuries.

In response, Diddy’s attorney, Marc Agifilio, defended his client by stating that the decision to contact the “third party”was mutually agreed upon by Cassie and Combs.

The situation gained further public attention when surveillance footage of Combs allegedly assaulting Cassie went viral in May 2024, prompting Diddy to issue an apology, calling his actions “inexcusable.”

In an Instagram video that has since been deleted, he remarked:

“It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that. I was fuc*ed up — I mean, I hit rock bottom — but I make no excuses. My behaviour in that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now.”

According to TMZ, Diddy is currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where he filed for bail after his defense team proposed a $50 million bond, supported by his family, including his mother, sister, brother, and children.

The bail proposal outlined conditions such as his passport surrender, terms for home detention, weekly drug testing, and a visitor log. However, the judges ultimately rejected this bail package.
