In the latest installment of Brighter Shores, players delve deeper into the lore of the Mine of Mantuban. The third episode continues the engaging narrative, where you embark on vital quests to thwart the spread of dark magic. A primary quest, titled “On The Trail of Corruption,”requires you to track down a elusive creature known as the Cave Moth.
The landscape of the Mine of Mantuban presents unique challenges, as its map is more intricate compared to the earlier Hopeport and Hopeforest areas. Rivers dissect the map, complicating access to various locations, including the Cave Moth’s habitat. This guide will assist you in successfully locating the Cave Moth within Brighter Shores.
How to Locate the Cave Moth in Brighter Shores
Your adventure begins at the Waterfall, where you will encounter a quirky character named Skallek. He will agree to help you navigate the stairway, but on one condition: you must present him with a Shiny Amethyst. This precious gem can be found by seeking out a miner named Sammy Clod, who operates in this region. Look for him in the Northwest Mining Cavern, situated in the northwest sector of the Mine of Mantuban.
Upon finding Sammy Clod and inquiring about the Shiny Amethyst, he will spontaneously suggest that you retrieve it yourself. He also provides a crucial tip that a Cave Moth can lead you directly to the gem.
Finding the Cave Moth in Brighter Shores
To track down the Cave Moth, make your way to the Mine Cart Cave, which is conveniently located near the Northwest Mining Cavern where you met Sammy Clod. Head west from the cavern, and you should soon spot the Cave Moth. This small insect exhibits a brown coloration adorned with intricate wing patterns, reflecting its natural beauty.
Upon entering the Mine Cart Cave, observe as the moth flutters off to the east. Follow its lead through various locations: the Jagged Junction (east), Rat Infested Tunnel (south), Rat Infested Junction (also south), and finally to Ratty Terminus (again south). Should the moth pause during your journey, simply click on it and select the ‘Approach’ option to encourage it to resume its path. Fortunately, the regions it navigates through are populated by non-aggressive creatures, like the Ugly Beastman (Level 20) and Bristle Giant Rat (Level 27), which will not attack unless provoked.
Upon reaching Ratty Terminus, you will find the Cave Moth hovering adjacent to a Shiny Amethyst embedded within the cave walls. To successfully extract this gem, you must attain a Miner profession level of 10, exclusive to Episode Three. As you approach the lustrous crystal, the Cave Moth will take to the air, signalling the conclusion of this portion of your quest.
