In the tenth episode of DNA Lover, as So-jin aspires to enhance her compatibility with Yeon-woo, she overhears Mi-eun discussing that So-jin collected Kang-hoon’s DNA sample instead of Yeon-woo’s.

Recap of DNA Lover Episode 10: So-jin Confesses Her Feelings to Yeon-woo

The tenth episode of DNA Lover opens with a voice-over by Yeon-woo, who reflects on his previous belief that love was about maintaining distance and playing to win—until he met So-jin, who makes him want to lose that game.

Next, the episode shows Yeon-woo dropping So-jin off at home after their meeting at the Hangang Riverside in the previous episode. Before she leaves, he asks if she has forgotten something, to which she responds, ‘I love you’.

Uncomfortable with her confession, Yeon-woo hands her back the calling button Kang-hoon gave her and quickly departs. While driving home, he recalls his mother’s warning not to love anyone after his father left, fearing he would end up like her.

Disturbed by Yeon-woo’s reaction to her confession, So-jin questions his silence when she professed her love, leading her to run anxiously around the street.

The following morning, So-jin discusses plans to travel abroad with Yeon-woo with her coworkers. She mentions discovering a DNA match from his uniform and creating a spray to eliminate his cheating gene. Mi-eun, who is at the lab for a skin treatment, overhears their conversation and ponders the implications.

So-jin later visits Yeon-woo’s hospital for coffee. During their conversation, she inquires about his phone call with his mother and whether everything is alright, to which he stiffly responds that all is fine and avoids further discussion.

As they talk, So-jin expresses her desire to learn more about Yeon-woo’s family, but he becomes uncomfortable, asserting that she is dating him, not his family. When So-jin persists, he invents an excuse to leave.

Later that evening, So-jin and A-ri discuss A-ri’s feelings toward a priest, while So-jin reflects on her own love life, admitting that communicating her feelings to Yeon-woo is becoming more challenging. Although she feels happy with him, she is bothered by not knowing much about his life.

The next morning, after accidentally bumping into her office door, So-jin shares the incident and insists that Yeon-woo keep her updated on his day. He obliges and invites her for a jog around Hangang River.

While jogging, they encounter Kang-hoon, whom Yeon-woo invites to dinner. At home, So-jin and Yeon-woo prepare the meal while Kang-hoon watches TV awkwardly.

So-jin discovers a package of abalones Mi-eun had left, opening it to find a picture of Yeon-woo and Mi-eun inside. Shocked, she freezes, and Kang-hoon intervenes by taking the picture away and opting to clean the abalones to distract her from what she saw.

During dinner, a show featuring Mi-eun airs, discussing a viewer’s relationship troubles, particularly about a man not reciprocating ‘I love you’. Yeon-woo supports the idea that unspoken feelings exist while So-jin argues that love flourishes through expression.

Kang-hoon states that confessing signifies a commitment to feelings that won’t change, causing Yeon-woo to remark on how some find it easier to confess than others, which surprises So-jin, who believed that he had an easy time expressing his feelings.

Kang-hoon recalls So-jin’s childhood crush confession, leading to playful bickering until she excuses herself to the restroom. Alone, Kang-hoon gives Yeon-woo the photograph of him and Mi-eun that he had hidden.

Yeon-woo, dismayed by the image, asks Kang-hoon to dispose of it, concerned about the potential to erase So-jin’s memories the same way.

When So-jin returns, she feels unhappy, remembering how she had drawn a heart on the window for Yeon-woo, who humorously mimicked a finger gun gesture in response. Kang-hoon, witnessing the exchange, feels troubled.

Later, Yeon-woo meets Mi-eun and hands her the picture, urging her to clarify that the photo could lead to misunderstandings.

Curious, he asks why she hasn’t informed Kang-hoon about her interest in him, and Mi-eun brushes it aside, expressing her interest in someone else. He then inquires about her thoughts on Kang-hoon and So-jin.

Mi-eun reflects on So-jin and Kang-hoon’s chemistry, questioning whether it’s destiny. She then reveals to Yeon-woo that she knows he is So-jin’s DNA Lover and is aware of the DNA test.

The next day, Yeon-woo and So-jin plan to watch the sunrise at the ocean. While So-jin is excited, Mi-eun approaches her for a conversation, hinting at her awareness of the photo and the challenge of taking similar pictures with Yeon-woo.

So-jin expresses her gratitude for the advice but stands firm that she does not care about Yeon-woo’s past relationships—she intends to be his one and only. Mi-eun then challenges her about her insecurities, particularly regarding the DNA spray she’s created.

She cautions So-jin that if Yeon-woo is truly her DNA Lover, he would naturally be with her. Mi-eun warns that Yeon-woo has a pattern of avoiding commitment, recalling their previous three-year relationship where they never exchanged ‘I love you’.

Despite So-jin reassuring Mi-eun that Yeon-woo will do things differently for her, doubts resurface.

On their visit to the beach, So-jin eagerly runs around, writing their names in the sand and requesting a photo together, but Yeon-woo refuses, taking only pictures of her instead.

When she demands to know why he took a photo with Mi-eun, he explains that he has never been jealous of her friendship with Kang-hoon, as he didn’t want to intrude. He asks her to reconsider her behavior.

In another scene, Mi-eun visits Kang-hoon’s father’s restaurant to talk about So-jin and Yeon-woo’s trip. While Kang-hoon advises Mi-eun to forget about Yeon-woo, despite lingering feelings, she remains fixated on their happiness.

At the beach, So-jin and Yeon-woo enjoy themselves, with So-jin expressing her desires to emulate an old couple she observes. She reminisces about her family beach trips and suggests writing postcards to their future selves.

While So-jin writes that she hopes to see Yeon-woo in a year, Yeon-woo steps away for a phone call. Seizing the moment, So-jin examines his postcard, discovering he wishes to be with her in a year—but if not, he hopes for someone who can protect her.

Surprised by his words, So-jin challenges Yeon-woo’s view of their relationship, wondering why he never told her ‘I love you’ and why he seems ready to end things at any time. Just then, Yeon-woo receives an emergency call from the hospital, prompting them to leave.

On their drive back, Yeon-woo’s vision blurs dangerously, raising concerns about fatigue. So-jin mentions his RP gene, which can lead to vision issues. Despite his dismissal, a close call with another vehicle forces him to focus, with So-jin gripping his hand for support.

Meanwhile, Mi-eun sits drunkenly in Kang-hoon’s father’s restaurant. His father requests Kang-hoon to look after her, who then converses with her, learning that the DNA sample So-jin used for her experiment came from Kang-hoon’s uniform, suggesting he might be So-jin’s true DNA lover instead of Yeon-woo.

At that moment, So-jin enters the restaurant, and the episode of DNA Lover concludes with Yeon-woo folding his jersey and placing it in a drawer.

The eleventh episode of DNA Lover is set to air on September 21 at 9:10 p.m. KST on TV Chosun and will also be available for streaming on Viki.
