Former President Donald Trump, whose criminal record precedes him, is an embodiment of dangerous fascism and glaring ignorance. In his recent address from Mar-a-Lago, one must question if his rambling monologues can genuinely be considered speeches. Did he take a moment to apologize for the abhorrent display of racism observed at his latest Madison Square Garden rally? Absolutely not. Instead of addressing the pressing questions at hand, he focused solely on disparaging Vice President Kamala Harris.
“She’s campaigning on a basis of immoralization, and, at its core, it’s a campaign rooted in destruction. Ultimately, it’s a campaign driven by hatred—pure, simple hate,” Trump stated (source: The Hill). And just to clarify, “immoralization” is not an established word.
“I mentioned yesterday that she is merely a vessel. A vessel for a powerful party comprising intelligent individuals … yet they are ruthless and seem intent on tearing down our nation,” he continued with his erratic speech. “Following two assassination attempts in a mere three months, the dishonesty and slander stemming from her are discreditable and truly unforgivable.”
In an unexpected moment of honesty, Trump referenced his experiences as a target of two assassination attempts. The first incident occurred during his campaign in Pennsylvania in July 2024, where he was shot at by Thomas Matthew Crooks, narrowly escaping injury while a bystander lost their life. Secret Service agents subsequently killed Crooks. The second assault unfolded in Florida two months later, where Ryan Wesley Routh was intercepted before he could draw his weapon. Notably, the initial attacker was a registered Republican, while the latter had registered as an independent.
It’s essential to note that Kamala Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz, have never encouraged violence towards Trump; they simply assert his unfitness for the presidency. Trump’s recent rhetoric about “the enemy within” has sparked grave concern, with his former Chief of Staff John Kelly alleging that Trump made favorable comments regarding Adolf Hitler. This volatile behavior has led Harris to label Trump as “increasingly unhinged and unstable.” Just last week, she outright called him “a fascist,” emphasizing that this is distinctly more severe than simply promoting hate. The reality is that Trump exemplifies fascism, posing a significant threat if granted access to the White House once more.
In his Mar-a-Lago address, Trump expressed, “Who would welcome open borders that allow countless individuals, including those from gangs and prisons—the most dangerous criminals globally—to enter? Who desires rampant transgender surgeries everywhere?” Trump seems obsessively fixated on the idea of “transgender operations,” mistakenly believing that schools are performing these surgeries on children despite clear evidence to the contrary indicating that it is an unfeasible situation.
When discussing “campaigns of absolute hate,” one only needs to observe the racism-laden atmosphere of the New York Madison Square Garden rally. Comedian—if one can even call him that—Tony Hinchcliffe spewed vile anti-Black and anti-Puerto Rican humor reminiscent of a Nazi gathering. However, Trump views it differently. He asserted during his speech today that the event radiated “love in the room.” This claim is strikingly similar to his justification of the January 6th insurrection, which he refers to as “a day of love.” It seems quite evident that Donald Trump lacks a proper understanding of love. What he does comprehend is hate, and he wields it as a weapon daily.
