When faced with losing, is the answer really to eliminate someone’s right to vote? This appears to be the mindset of John McEntee, who previously held a role in Donald Trump’s administration.
On Twitter/X, McEntee humorously suggested abolishing the 19th Amendment, which grants women’s right to vote. His post was captioned with, “We want MALE-only voting. The 19th might have to go.” The accompanying video wasn’t any better; McEntee declared, “When we said we only wanted mail-in voting, we meant MALE. MALE.”
It’s no surprise that Twitter users reacted negatively to McEntee’s humor. Many were shocked that anyone could find such a distasteful joke amusing. One Twitter user remarked, “It’s as if they’re intentionally running the worst campaign to gauge how gullible Americans can be. Is this a test?” Another commenter quipped, “Get in losers, we’re going losing.”

One reply to McEntee echoed the sentiment: “Get in losers, we’re going losing.” This isn’t McEntee’s only controversial comment; his TikTok presence is filled with numerous racist and sexist jokes, often made while he pretends to eat. He referred to California’s reparations for slavery as black individuals “getting free stuff.” It’s noteworthy that even though California was not a slave state, around 4,000 enslaved black people were forcibly brought there by slaveholders between 1850 and 1860 to labor in gold mines.
Inappropriate Jokes from Trump’s Camp
John McEntee’s role extends beyond just serving Trump; he’s also affiliated with Project 2025. His comments are far from mere jokes, particularly for women seeking to preserve their reproductive rights.
This isn’t the first time Trump’s supporters have sparked controversy with their jokes. A comedian at an event in Madison Square Garden made derogatory remarks about racial minorities. The Trump campaign has been attempting to connect with women voters, and further ill-timed jokes could complicate their efforts. Currently, Kamala Harris is leading among female voters. Meanwhile, the Trump campaign seems to focus primarily on attracting male voters.
