There’s no denying that Donald Trump displays a level of hypocrisy, with his latest antics involving a peculiar video that features a Taylor Swift song—a stark contrast to his public disdain for her.
Following Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Kamala Harris, along with her self-description as a “childless cat lady” —a jab at JD Vance’s bizarre attacks on those without children—it’s clear that Trump is rattled. His reaction on his right-wing social media outlet, Truth Social, was to exclaim “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” with the fervor of a petulant teenager. Ironically, he continues to utilize her music for his own purposes.
The specific video in question promotes “Women For Trump.”One could question why any woman with self-respect would support a candidate like Trump, who has made derogatory remarks about women. This remains a topic that is never addressed. The video showcases various female supporters of Trump, including Lara, his daughter-in-law, who is clad in pink—an assumption that evidently all women adore the color. They sing along to Swift’s “22” before the tune transitions to Forgiato Blow’s unsettling “Trump Trump Baby.”

Is the Trump campaign attempting to craft another anti-Swift narrative with this video? It’s hard to ascertain. It appears as disjointed as much of what we’ve seen from his campaign, and it’s doubtful this will attract female voters.
Unquestionably, Swift would never condone Trump making use of her music, a sentiment echoed by numerous big-name artists in the music industry. From Celine Dion to REM, many have openly requested that Trump cease the misuse of their songs. Nonetheless, Trump appears indifferent. At a recent gathering, he even played music—largely from artists who oppose him—while he stood, swaying bizarrely. This serves as further evidence questioning his suitability for the presidency.
