Effective Employee Management Strategies for Supermarket Teams

Supermarket Together is an engaging grocery store simulator that allows players to create and manage their own superstore from the very beginning. You will be involved in a variety of tasks, including stocking shelves, setting prices, and hiring staff, giving you the freedom to run your business the way you envision it.

Initially, the gameplay is simple, requiring you to manage a limited inventory and cater to a small clientele. However, as you progress through the early days, the pace quickens significantly. While having friends join the gameplay can simplify some tasks, effectively hiring and managing employees remains essential for successful solo play. To recruit new employees in Supermarket Together, you must first unlock an Employee perk via the Franchise Board, which requires Franchise Points. These points are similar to experience points, and you accumulate them by serving customers throughout the day. You’ll find a summary of your Franchise Points in the end-of-day report, which correlates with your sales performance. You have the opportunity to acquire a total of 12 Employee perks, each enabling you to hire one additional staff member.

After unlocking a perk, visit the Manager Blackboard located in the Manager’s Room, and navigate to the Employees tab. By clicking on the Hire button, you’ll see available candidates, complete with ratings and daily salaries. If you wish to see different candidates, utilize the reroll button for a new selection.

Clicking on a candidate opens the Employee’s Stats window, which details their strengths across various sectors. You can also personalize your employee by entering a name in the provided text box. When you’ve identified the right fit for your needs, simply click the Hire button to include them in your roster. Should you need to release someone, switch to the Dismiss tab, select the employee in question, and confirm the dismissal.

All your hired employees will be listed here. To assign a task, select the No Task button located below their stats and choose the desired assignment from the options provided:

  • No Task: The employee remains idle in the Staff Room.
  • Cashier: The employee handles an empty cash register, processing customer payments.
  • Restocker: The employee replenishes empty shelves with products from the Storage Shelves.
  • Storage: The employee organizes new products on the Storage Shelves after you place an order.

While employee happiness may not initially play a critical role in gameplay, keeping your staff content can lead to better performance. Ensuring staff are engaged in tasks that align with their skills is key to maintaining morale.

Improving the Staff Room is a great way to boost employee happiness. To do this, visit the Staff Room and access the Staff Room tab in the Build menu. Here, you can enhance the space with various furniture items. Simple additions like a Basic Table or Chair can increase happiness by 0.1 points, while larger investments such as a Dart Board or Pool Table may have a more significant positive impact.

You can monitor the overall Staffroom Happiness level through the Employee tab on the Manager Blackboard. Thriving in the competitive environment of Supermarket Together hinges on strategic planning and effective management. With a steady influx of customers, especially during more challenging scenarios, a dedicated team can help streamline operations and enhance customer satisfaction.
