Minecraft features a wide array of creatures that players can interact with, ranging from passive to neutral and hostile. In the Overworld realm, there are even real-world animals inhabiting various biomes. While the game includes parrots and chickens, it surprisingly lacks other bird-like creatures across any biome.

This brings up the valid argument that Mojang Studios should introduce additional birds to Minecraft for several compelling reasons.

Currently, the only flying bird present in Minecraft is the parrot.

Given the plethora of real-life species found in the Overworld, adding more types of birds would significantly enrich the visual experience of the game. Imagine various birds nesting in trees, soaring across deserts, or flitting through the air, transforming the landscape into a more vibrant setting.

At present, when players gaze up at the sky, it can appear rather dull—composed solely of blocky clouds. The introduction of birds could breathe life into the Overworld, making it feel more dynamic and animated.

While there are numerous mods, such as Exotic Birds, that introduce over 100 bird mobs into Minecraft, Mojang Studios could develop official additions for the base game as well.

Minecraft offers a unique soundscape as players explore different biomes and dimensions. However, it can feel somewhat lacking in areas like plains and forests, which often feel eerily quiet due to the absence of bird calls. Birds typically provide a lively soundtrack, especially during the day.

By adding birds such as pigeons, robins, and blackbirds, Mojang could enrich the audio experience in various locations throughout the Overworld, enhancing the overall ambiance of the sandbox game.

New Gameplay Features

Currently, the only bird that players can tame in Minecraft is the parrot. Players can feed them different types of seeds, and they can perch on their owner’s shoulders. If more birds were introduced, they could also be tamable through various means.

Players might need to feed distinct food items to tame certain species of birds. Additionally, some birds could provide unique benefits, such as magpies that might randomly yield shiny ores like diamonds, gold, or emeralds. Others could offer feathers to players without the need for them to kill the birds.
