Upcoming Zombie Games in 2025
Killing Floor 3
Unveiled during Gamescom Opening Night Live in August 2023, Killing Floor 3 marks the next chapter in this popular cooperative horde shooter series. Originally born as a mod for Unreal Tournament 2004, the franchise has significantly evolved, and this installment promises to be the most ambitious yet.
Players will unite in 6-player co-op as the Nightfall rebels, working to dismantle the sinister Horzine corporation and confront its legion of mind-controlled Zeds. As in previous versions, expect relentless waves of enemies coupled with an extensive selection of weapons, gadgets, and character skills. This highly anticipated title is set to launch in March 2025.
Dying Light: The Beast
Among the most eagerly awaited zombie titles next year, Dying Light: The Beast will offer a concise standalone journey featuring Kyle Crane, the original protagonist. Set in the sprawling Castor Woods, players will navigate this new open-world environment, armed with fresh weapons and gear to combat the increasing undead menace.
Designed for solo play and 4-player co-op, this experience promises to provide flexibility and camaraderie while tackling fearsome new creatures. Look for its release during the summer of 2025.
Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days
Positioned as a potential diamond in the rough, Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days is a side-scrolling survival game set in the haunting 1980s. Players will traverse the desolate landscape of Walton City, scavenging valuable resources and returning them to their home base. In addition to survival, players will encounter new survivors that they need to rescue and protect, utilizing an innovative crafting system to meet their needs.
A demo of this intriguing title is currently available, with a full release planned for 2025.
God Save Birmingham
Another indie title to watch, God Save Birmingham, is set for an Early Access release on Steam in 2025. This game transports players to a 14th-century Birmingham, where a mysterious plague has transformed the populace into ravenous zombies. The initial version will allow exploration of about 25% of the medieval town, with further expansions planned before the final launch.
State of Decay 3
First revealed in July 2020, State of Decay 3 made a notable return during Xbox’s June Showcase. Although Undead Labs has not officially confirmed a release date, industry insiders speculate that it may arrive in 2025, sparking excitement among fans of the original series.
