At present, the only dinosaur exclusive to The Center is the formidable Shastasaurus, showcased in the game’s promotional trailer available on YouTube. This aquatic creature, voted the 7th winner in the Ark Creature poll, is classified as a carnivore and is unique to this DLC.

Capturing a Shastasaurus requires skill; players must first tame an Ichthyosaurus to approach it in the waters of The Center. Once close enough, players will need to bring the Shastasaurus to the surface, ensuring it is free from leeches and well-fed prior to taming it. Successfully taming this creature can be a valuable addition to any player’s arsenal.

Pyromane: A DLC Addition, Not Exclusive

Where to Locate the Pyromane

In contrast to the exclusive content of The Center, the Pyromane is a purchasable DLC that launched alongside the map. Although it spawns within The Center, this dynamo isn’t exclusive, as it can also be found on the Scorched Earth map. Players should be cautious when encountering the Pyromane, given its aggressive nature as a carnivore.

Despite its ferocity, players can tame, ride, and even breed the Pyromane. To tame this fiery beast, players must extinguish its flames by leading it to a body of water, after which they can successfully mount it and coax it into a tamed state using the Pyromane’s Flame Absorb attack against other creatures. While available on multiple maps, players will discover it easier to capture within The Center DLC of Ark: Survival Ascended.
