In the penultimate episode, Ju-yeon found herself in peril as Sae-yan’s father was intent on killing her, mimicking the fate of her own father. Meanwhile, Sae-yan was helplessly confined in her father’s residence.

The most recent episode of Bad Memory Eraser showcased the police capturing Sae-yan’s father, along with Goon finally encountering his true first love. Additionally, it revealed the circumstances surrounding Ju-yeon’s father’s death.

Bad Memory Eraser Episode 16: Goon Saves Ju-yeon While Shin Rescues Sae-yan

Episode 16 of Bad Memory Eraser begins with Goon reflecting on why he keeps seeing Ju-yeon’s face in his childhood recollections.

Ju-yeon, who had previously requested disciplinary action against herself, was spotted in the meeting room at the hospital. As the panel of the committee started their questioning, Goon unexpectedly entered the room.

Being the focus of Bad Memory Eraser’s clinical trials, Goon responded to the panel’s queries while also providing some support for Ju-yeon’s research. Thanks to the minister’s intervention, Ju-yeon was ultimately saved, but Tae-oh became the target of unethical experimentation.

In the following scene, Sae-yan is depicted locked inside her father’s house, reminiscing about her childhood with Ju-yeon. Ju-yeon had always been a strong ally for Sae-yan, rescuing her from bullies during their early years.

After a brief flashback featuring Ju-yeon, Sae-yan deduced why her mother had forbidden her from seeing her father. Determined, she set out to rescue Ju-yeon.

Seeking assistance, she found a credit card machine. Using the card Ju-yeon had given her in the past, she made multiple transactions, signaling distress. Ju-yeon, tracking these transactions, followed the trail.

Meanwhile, Shin reached out to Inspector Kim about the stalker and sought information on Sae-yan’s whereabouts. Expressing concern for her safety, he took note when the inspector delivered a photo of the stalker to Goon’s email. Both Goon and Shin began investigating the stalker’s identity.

Goon recalled Sae-yan’s father after seeing his poster and grew suspicious, prompting him to inform the police about the stalker’s past crimes. His investigation unveiled that Sae-yan’s father had been involved in the murder of Ju-yeon’s father.

Meanwhile, Shin had already contacted Ju-yeon and they decided to search for Sae-yan together. Just before leaving, Ju-yeon received a text from Sae-yan’s number informing her that she was on her way to the hospital, brining a sigh of relief to both Ju-yeon and Shin.

As Goon comprehended the danger surrounding Ju-yeon, he called Shin, who was already investigating the location of the transactions. Shin arrived at the car facility where Sae-yan was being held captive, while Goon rushed to the hospital to protect Ju-yeon.

Goon thwarted Sae-yan’s father from attacking Ju-yeon. Shortly after, police intervened and arrested him. The assailant presumed Ju-yeon was attempting to manipulate his daughter to keep her away from him, leading him to attempt to murder Ju-yeon. It was at this moment that Ju-yeon learned about her father’s murder at the hands of Sae-yan’s father.

Following the arrest of the attacker, flashbacks illustrating the childhood bond between Ju-yeon and Sae-yan unfolded. They had been close friends, but the latter’s father’s obsession with his estranged family culminated in the murder of Ju-yeon’s father, a traumatic event Ju-yeon witnessed.

Back in present day, Ju-yeon awoke in the hospital where both Sae-yan and her mother expressed their apologies, leading to resolution between them.

Sae-yan then informed Goon that she was not his first love, igniting the notion that Ju-yeon could indeed be that person. She also revealed that she had found the medal in her possession, clarifying that she had never rescued Goon.

As Ju-yeon and Sae-yan were preparing to leave Korea, Sae-yan boldly asked if she could be Goon’s first love. Ju-yeon smiled in response, prompting another flashback from her childhood. It depicted Ju-yeon rescuing Goon from a river after an incident when he was searching for his medal – a medal subsequently taken by Ju-yeon to Sae-yan’s house.

Meanwhile, Goon received a call from Professor Han, who reassured him that there were no side effects from the Bad Memory Eraser experiment, confirming that Ju-yeon was indeed his true first love. Elated, Goon soon recognized that Ju-yeon had already departed.

As Bad Memory Eraser Season 1 concluded, the narrative fast-forwarded by three years. Ju-yeon returned to Korea, Goon successfully ran his agency, Shin entered college, and Sae-yan enjoyed a happy life in Italy. In the last scene, Ju-yeon visited the bridge where she first met Goon in her childhood, shortly followed by Goon’s arrival, culminating in a heartfelt embrace.

Season 2 Renewal Prospects for Bad Memory Eraser

The climax of the MBN drama concluded without any unresolved plotlines for its characters, suggesting that a second season of Bad Memory Eraser is improbable. The main characters, Goon, Ju-yeon, Shin, and Sae-yan, each received fulfilling endings.

Goon ultimately reunited with his genuine first love, Ju-yeon, while Shin abandoned tennis to pursue his college ambitions, and Sae-yan’s search for her father reached a resolution.

All supporting characters, including the families of Ju-yeon and Goon, also received a peaceful closure by the episode’s end.

As of now, the production team for Bad Memory Eraser has not issued any statements regarding a potential second season, making the chances for renewal quite slim.

For those interested, all episodes of Bad Memory Eraser are available for streaming on Rakuten Viki.
