Marvel introduced several new projects, including the Marvel Spotlight series Echo, a revival of X-Men: The Animated Series titled X-Men ’97, a spinoff of WandaVision titled Agatha All Along, and the much-anticipated third season of its anthology series, What If…?.

What If…? season 3 brought viewers an array of alternate timelines featuring an eclectic mix of Marvel characters. From a Celestial-powered Agatha Harkness to an electrifying version of Storm wielding Mjolnir, the season showcased numerous variants that fans have been eager to see. Despite the potential for future seasons fueled by the vast Marvel multiverse, this installment marks the concluding chapter of the MCU’s inaugural animated series. Nevertheless, it is crucial to note that this will not be the last of Marvel Studios’ animated endeavors.

Introducing Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man

The first Marvel project of 2025 will be Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, premiering on January 29, shortly after the conclusion of What If…? season 3. This new animated series is set in an alternate timeline where Peter Parker is recognized as Spider-Man under the mentorship of Norman Osborn. As Spider-Man navigates this universe, he encounters an impressive roster of iconic villains, including Doctor Octopus, Scorpion, Tombstone, and Chameleon, and collaborates with notable heroes like Daredevil, Doctor Strange, and Nico Minoru.

Notably, while this animated series is a fresh creation within the MCU framework, it does involve a reshuffling of voice roles. Hudson Thames takes over the role of Peter Parker from Tom Holland, alongside Colman Domingo as Norman Osborn and Hugh Dancy substituting for Alfred Molina as Otto Octavius. However, MCU veteran Charlie Cox will reprise his role as Matt Murdock, also known as Daredevil, in this series before his anticipated return in Daredevil: Born Again.

A Slate of Exciting Future Releases

Beyond Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, the MCU has an exciting lineup of five additional shows slated for release in 2025. The next installment will be Daredevil: Born Again, debuting in March, followed by the series Ironheart in June. Fans can also look forward to the animated series Eyes of Wakanda and Marvel Zombies, set to premiere in August and October, respectively. The year’s programming will conclude with the debut of Wonder Man in December, featuring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams.

Additionally, several other MCU series are in the pipeline, including Vision Quest, Nova, and second seasons for Daredevil: Born Again, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, and X-Men ’97. There’s also speculation around the potential development of sequels for Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, a Young Avengers series, and a possible revival of Spider-Man: The Animated Series. However, these projects have yet to receive official confirmation.
