Loki stands out as one of the most captivating figures in One Piece, a character viewers have eagerly awaited. Initially introduced during the Whole Cake Island arc, fans learned about his affection for Lola, the daughter of Big Mom. However, their intended union was never realized, further straining the relationship between the Elbaf Giants and Big Mom.
With Loki’s formal introduction in One Piece, it has become apparent that he possesses an extraordinary Devil Fruit. While this fabled fruit has been mentioned, its true nature and abilities remain unknown to fans. Nonetheless, there are numerous theories and discussions surrounding its potential attributes and powers.
How Loki Acquired His Powerful Devil Fruit Ability
- Loki slayed his father Harald.
- A legendary Devil Fruit came into his possession.
In chapter 1130 of One Piece, Loki’s backstory was unveiled. He is recognized as the Disgraced Prince, sometimes referred to as the Prince of Curses, likely due to his delinquent behavior. The specifics of his past misdeeds have yet to be disclosed. However, it was revealed that he orchestrated a dark plot that resulted in his father Harald’s death, with the implication that he sought to usurp his position.
“He’s the shame of Elbaf!” – The Giants
At the same time, it became known that Loki committed this act to obtain a Legendary Devil Fruit. Although the exact identity of this fruit remains a mystery, it is acknowledged to be extraordinary, carrying immense power and traditionally passed down through the royal lineage. Following his father’s demise, Loki allegedly consumed this fruit, leading to outrage among the Giants of Elbaf. Consequently, a revolt was initiated against him, resulting in his imprisonment.
Moreover, it was dramatically disclosed that the entire force of the Elbaf Giants was required to subdue Loki and imprison him. This suggests that his Devil Fruit harbors immense capabilities that should not be underestimated. It’s likely that he is bound by chains specifically designed to suppress Devil Fruit powers, similar to the Sea Prism Stone used on Big Mom while she was in Udon Prison. As of now, this is all that is known regarding Loki’s capture and the means by which he consumed the Devil Fruit.
What Type of Devil Fruit Does Loki Possess?
Loki Could Possess a Mythical Zoan Type of Devil Fruit
Fans are curious about the nature of Loki’s powers and the identity of the Devil Fruit he has consumed. In general, there exist three classes of Devil Fruits within One Piece. The first category is Paramecia, which grants users the ability to morph their bodies into various materials or create specific substances. Many unique powers that don’t fit into the other categories fall under this classification.

Next, we have the Zoan-type abilities, which allow transformation into an animal or hybrid forms that combine human characteristics with those of an animal. Finally, the strongest category includes Logia types of Devil Fruits. These fruits possess extraordinary powers that enable users to create, control, or morph into natural elements, providing them with intangibility as well.
Considering all factors, it’s clear that Loki does not possess a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit. While Paramecia abilities can be remarkably powerful, calling any of them legendary would be a stretch. Even Whitebeard’s Gura Gura no Mi, regarded as the strongest among Paramecia, has not been labeled legendary. That said, Logia fruits can qualify as legendary due to their immense power, and Loki’s Devil Fruit could indeed be one that is highly sought after.
Furthermore, the desire expressed by Hajrudin to become a Giant with a Logia Fruit could hint at foreshadowing from Oda, suggesting that Loki may become the Giant Hajrudin aspired to be.
However, the most likely possibility for Loki’s ability is a Mythical Zoan. This could imply that he possesses a unique Zoan-type fruit, akin to those that characters like Luffy have ingested.
Loki’s Potential Devil Fruit Might Be a Mythical Zoan
Loki’s Abilities Might Be Tied to the Sun God
It is plausible that Loki possesses a legendary Zoan, and if that is the case, it may be a Mythical Zoan, potentially a model of the Hito Hito no Mi. Historical lore indicates that legendary Devil Fruits, particularly Mythical Zoans, have been introduced in the narrative, such as Luffy’s Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, which is undeniably remarkable. Additionally, the legendary abilities of Luffy pertaining to the Sun God are widely recognized. Interestingly, Loki has claimed the title of the Sun God himself, which could suggest a connection to the Devil Fruit he possesses.
Loki might not share the same powers as Luffy, but there could be an association with the Sun God in his abilities. It’s conceivable that he has consumed a different model of the Hito Hito no Mi, one that he believes grants him the powers of the Sun God.
If it does not pertain to the Sun God, Norse mythology offers a plethora of powerful entities that Loki could embody. Notably, Fenrir is a mythical wolf known for its incredible strength and ability to consume anything. Another intriguing possibility is Jormungandr, the formidable serpent and one of Loki’s offspring in Norse lore, reputedly capable of bringing about arms-shattering devastation. There is also the potential for Loki to embody a Hito Hito no Mi model inspired by Norse mythology. Ultimately, Oda has a rich array of choices to explore.
