1) Jack Unterweger

Jack Unterweger, a notorious Austrian serial killer, was responsible for the cold-blooded murders of multiple victims across various locations, including Austria and Czechoslovakia. According to Peacock’s World’s Most Notorious Killers, Unterweger was known for his signature method of strangling his victims—predominantly women—using their bras, after which he would conceal their bodies in wooded areas.

Initially arrested in 1974 for a solitary murder, Unterweger was released on parole in 1990, only to revert to his killing spree. In 1994, he was convicted of nine murders, but tragically, just hours after the verdict, he took his own life in prison.

His wife, Rose West, was complicit in these horrific acts. Both were arrested in 1994 and sentenced to imprisonment.

Fred West tragically ended his life in 1995 by suffocating himself while incarcerated, while Rose West is currently serving her sentence at HM Prison New Hall in West Yorkshire.

3) Charles Sobhraj

Charles Sobhraj, also referred to as the ‘Bikini Killer’ due to the clothing worn by many of his victims, is infamous for allegedly killing over twenty tourists. After serving a prison sentence in India from 1976 to 1997, he later moved to France. In 2003, Sobhraj returned to Nepal, where he was incarcerated again and given a life sentence.

On December 23, 2023, the Supreme Court of Nepal approved his release, citing his advanced age. Following this, he was deported to France, where he is believed to currently reside.
