Fact Check: Clarifying the Claim of 50 Million People Attempting to Purchase Dua Lipa Madrid Concert Tickets

Dua Lipa is gearing up for her Radical Optimism Tour 2025, which kicks off on March 20. As tickets were released for her concerts around the globe, a fan shared a viral image claiming that over 50 million people attempted to purchase tickets for Dua Lipa’s Madrid concert, with millions still waiting in an online queue.

The viral image suggested there were 50,734,893 individuals in line for the Madrid show and highlighted the extremely limited availability of tickets due to overwhelming demand. Numerous users on X (formerly Twitter) reshared this image, amplifying the news about the ticket frenzy.

It’s important to note that Dua Lipa will be taking the stage in Madrid at the WiZink Center on May 11 and 12, 2025. According to the Real Madrid website, the venue has a capacity of only 15,000 people, suggesting that ticket sales would align closely with that number. However, upon checking the ticket sales website, many tickets for the concert appear to still be available.

Therefore, if indeed 50 million people were in line, the tickets would have sold out instantly. This indicates that the claim about 50 million people trying to buy Dua Lipa’s concert tickets is both false and misleading.

The Truth Behind 50 Million Ticket Seekers: A Fan’s Admission of an Altered Image

Dua Lipa stirred excitement on social media following the announcement of her 2025 world tour. Amid the buzz, a user on X posted an image alleging that 50 million people were in line for concert tickets. After the post garnered widespread attention, the user later clarified that it was a “joke.”

In response to the viral post, X included a community note stating:

“A fan account admitted it was a joke and there were in fact 50k people in queue to buy tickets.”

Moreover, Lipa’s 2025 tour will follow the release of her third studio album, also titled Radical Optimism, on May 3, 2024. The album features 15 tracks along with 11 extended versions, including popular songs like Houdini, Training Season, Illusion, Maria, Happy for You, Dance the Night, and Falling Forever.

Just a week ago, Dua Lipa shared her tour dates on Instagram. She is set to perform in Australia and New Zealand from March 20 to April 2, 2025, before heading to Europe. From May 11 to June 27, she will be performing across multiple European countries, including Spain, France, the UK, the Netherlands, and Ireland.

After Europe, Lipa will continue her tour in Canada, followed by performances in various cities across the United States until October 16, 2025. While tickets remain on sale through multiple platforms, the assertion that 50 million individuals attempted to purchase tickets for her Madrid concert is indeed misleading.
