Recently, rumors began to spread after Taylor Swift publicly endorsed Kamala Harris on her Instagram following the highly anticipated presidential debate between Donald Trump and Harris. One particular rumor that gained traction online claimed that Kid Rock had denied Taylor Swift the opportunity to join him on stage.
This rumor, which seemingly originated on Facebook, alleged that Kid Rock told Taylor:
“Go home girl, your music is bubblegum.”
However, this rumor is false and needs to be debunked. Investigations reveal that this speculation initially emerged as a meme on the official SpaceX Fanclub Facebook page in July, a page known for its satirical content.
Moreover, an article asserting that Kid Rock declined to perform alongside Swift was published by Esspots in May 2024. However, it’s important to note that Esspots is recognized for its humorous and satirical writing. In the article, the author purportedly quoted Rock saying:
“‘We need more Toby Keiths and less Taylor Swifts,’ [Kid Rock] declared, expressing his disapproval of what he perceives as a departure from authentic country music.”
Given that the recently viral Facebook post mirrors earlier speculations from satire pages, it is reasonable to conclude that this current post is also fabricated.
Kid Rock did not deny Taylor Swift a spot on stage
Although Kid Rock has not made any recent comments regarding Taylor Swift, he has criticized her in the past. In August 2019, Rock tweeted on X about Taylor, writing:
“Taylor Swift wants to be a Democrat because she wants to be in movies… period. And it looks like she will suck the door knob off Hollyweird to get there. Oldest move in the book. Good luck girl.”
While Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Kamala Harris has generated significant attention, she is not the only celebrity advocating for a candidate in the upcoming presidential elections.
Figures such as Kid Rock, Elon Musk, and Hulk Hogan have been very vocal about their political support for Trump. Conversely, stars like George Clooney, John Legend, Charli XCX, Ariana Grande, and Demi Lovato have rallied behind Kamala Harris.
Swift’s endorsement has ignited widespread discussion, drawing what seems to be a response from Donald Trump. On Sunday, Trump posted on Truth Social, revealing:
“I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”
Following Trump’s remarks, several celebrities expressed their support for the pop star on social media, including Flavor Flav and Mark Hamill.
Taylor Swift shows support for Kamala Harris
Donald Trump and Kamala Harris engaged in their first presidential debate on September 10, 2024. The debate covered various contentious topics, including foreign policy, abortion, and immigration.
Following the debate, Taylor Swift took to Instagram to announce her endorsement of Kamala Harris for the US presidential elections. The artist shared a photo of herself with a cat, accompanied by a detailed caption stating:
“I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.”
The upcoming presidential elections are expected to occur in November 2024.
