Episode 7 of The Braxtons season 1, titled Lights, Camera, Braxtons!, premiered on September 20. This episode showcased the Braxton sisters and Mama Evelyn during a photo shoot. Towanda expressed that she is “no longer ashamed”of her condition. When Sean pressed for more details, she addressed the stigma surrounding women and their hair, explaining its psychological effects on her. She disclosed that she had been facing hair thinning since the first season of Braxton Family Values, which is why she often wore pigtails during filming.

Towanda Discusses Her Alopecia Journey with Sean in Episode 7 of The Braxtons Season 1

Before her meeting with Sean in The Braxtons, Towanda shared with her sisters Toni and Trina that she and Sean have been in a relationship for 9 years, expressing her feelings of peace and gratitude.

During her conversation with Sean, Towanda recounted an incident from seventh grade where a girl made a negative comment about her hair, which impacted her deeply and motivated her to never let anyone undermine her self-worth again.

Throughout season 1 of Braxton Family Values, she mentioned her use of pigtails to conceal bald patches, and by season 2, she felt relieved to discover she could safely use a wig to mask those areas.
