Fans Express Concern Over Wendy Williams’ Absence in Covering Diddy’s Recent Arrest and Hope for Her Return

The arrest of Sean “Diddy” Combs has ignited a significant buzz online, with many expressing their disdain for Wendy Williams’ absence, believing she would have had much to say about the rapper’s ongoing legal issues. The former host of The View has been largely out of the public spotlight after being diagnosed with multiple medical conditions, including aphasia and frontotemporal dementia, in 2023.

According to ABC News, Diddy was apprehended by federal authorities on September 16, 2024, at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Manhattan.

In light of Combs’ arrest and Williams’ absence, social media users are rallying in support of her and wishing for her comeback. For example, Instagram user @yunginmiagi commented on The Shade Room’s post:

Wendy Williams’ Perspective on Diddy Over the Years

Back in the 1990s, Wendy Williams hosted a show on TV channel WQHT, where she controversially leaked an alleged NSFW photo of Sean Combs with another man. Us Weekly reported her subsequent firing from the show. Following this, she made multiple claims about the hip-hop mogul’s sexuality and even labeled him “gay” on Hot 97 radio.

In her 2004 memoir, The Wendy Williams Experience, the media personality expressed “contempt for Puff,” alleging he “single-handedly tried to ruin me.” However, she also clarified that she didn’t “hate him” despite the “hell he put me through.”

During a 2009 episode of her show, she claimed that members of the R&B girl group Total, signed to Diddy’s Bad Boy Records, “jumped” her. A decade later, she reiterated her accusations on the same platform, alleging that Combs masterminded the attack.

“Once upon a time, there was a music mogul who sent his all-girl group to beat my a*s in front of the radio station. Fact! I finished my shift, rounded up my headphones, and saw everybody lined up at the window looking down on the sidewalk,” Wendy stated.

She even mentioned that her ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, could corroborate the alleged incident.

“I find this girl group, jump out of a gypsy cab, to come after me. To beat my a*s! For what? You know what I said was true. You all were broke and living in the projects, and that was that,” Williams added.

Later, in 2013, when Diddy faced legal troubles, Wendy Williams remarked to Vlad TV that her life was coming to a “full circle.” Two years later, during her talk show, she criticized Combs for frequently changing his name from “Puffy” to “Diddy.”

In 2018, after Sean Combs and his then-girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura split, Wendy claimed that the rapper was attempting to “manipulate” Cassie into mending their relationship. In a prior brief breakup in 2015, Ventura described their relationship as “unbalanced”and labeled Sean a “playboy.”

In 2017, Diddy made an appearance on The Wendy Williams Show, where they temporarily reconciled. He described Wendy as one of the first successful female hip hop journalists, while she referred to the moment as a “full circle.” Later, during an interview with Sway’s Universe radio show, she called Diddy a “Bad Boy for life.”

Wendy Williams was spotted in public for the first time in over a year last month when she visited Bolingo Balance, a holistic wellness store in Newark, New Jersey, accompanied by her son, Kevin Hunter Jr.
