Overview
- Marvel Rivals enthusiasts advocate for a change allowing Bruce Banner to respawn directly as the Hulk, aiming to eliminate repetitive voice lines.
- There is currently no confirmation from NetEase Games regarding the implementation of this change.
- A substantial update for Marvel Rivals is anticipated in January to coincide with the commencement of Season 1.
Marvel Rivals has captured the attention of gamers, particularly due to the inclusion of the iconic Hulk character. As a fixture of Marvel Comics for years, it’s no wonder the green giant is featured on the Marvel Rivals launch roster.
Hulk’s immense size and formidable power designate him as one of the game’s Vanguards, or Tanks. What distinguishes him within the roster is his unique mechanic: Hulk begins each match as Bruce Banner, who is armed with a gun and a grenade. Players can switch to the Hulk form once their Ult is fully charged, drawing a parallel to D.Va’s gameplay in Overwatch 2.
However, unlike D.Va, who enters battles in her mech form, Bruce Banner enters Marvel Rivals in a significantly weakened state. Although Bruce starts with a fully charged Ult, it presents a challenge for dedicated Hulk players. The need to immediately activate Hulk’s transformation at the start of each round can become tiresome, accompanied by the repeated voice line, “I’m Hulking out!” A Reddit user, known as AbyssHeart, recently highlighted this issue, leading to widespread community support, with the post garnering nearly 7,000 upvotes.
Community Advocacy for a Quality of Life Change
Please let Bruce Banner just spawn as the Hulk, so I don’t have to hear “I HuLkiNG OuT!!!”every time I respawn by u/AbyssHeart in marvelrivals
The feedback from players indicates a strong consensus on improving the inception of match gameplay for Hulk. While some acknowledge the potential loss of Bruce Banner’s interactions during gameplay, a proposed compromise has emerged. This solution suggests that Bruce should initiate the match as himself but respawn as Hulk subsequently.
As of now, it remains uncertain whether NetEase Games will make this desired adjustment to Marvel Rivals. However, with Season 1 on the horizon and scheduled to launch in January, fans are eagerly anticipating significant updates. Speculation regarding potential balance adjustments and improvements based on community feedback is swirling, but confirmation is yet to come.
