The highly anticipated Global Challenges of 2025 have officially commenced in Pokémon GO as part of the Fidough Fetch Event. Marking the first significant event of the new year following the exciting holiday festivities, this event introduces two new Pokémon, providing a compelling reason for players to engage. The event runs from Friday, January 3, 2025, at 3 PM to Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 10 PM.
Global challenges offer a unique experience compared to the routine weekly events like Pokémon GO’s Max Mondays. The Fidough Fetch Event caters to a broad audience, featuring new Pokémon arrivals, enhanced spawn rates, and boosted shiny encounters, among other exciting activities.
How To Complete Fidough Fetch Event In Pokémon GO
Completing Nice Curveball Throws
The Fidough Fetch Event features an innovative twist distinct from recent holiday events in Pokémon GO. While many aspects are accessible to all players immediately, the main highlight of the event focuses on global challenges. For this event, participants are tasked with completing Nice Curveball Throws.
Each Nice Curveball throw contributes to a global counter, increasing as players across the globe engage in this challenge. Upon completing each reward tier, bonuses will become available for the duration of the event. The total number of Nice Curveball throws required for completion has not yet been disclosed, following the same pattern as previous global challenges that required completion of prior tiers.
To execute a Nice Curveball, time your throw when the circle around the Pokémon you’ve targeted is at its largest, which maximizes your chance for a successful throw. Spinning the Pokéball before releasing it allows you to perform a curveball throw.
In addition to the curveball challenges, event-themed field research tasks will be accessible to all players, yielding encounters with featured Pokémon and additional rewards.

Upon successful completion of each of the six reward levels by trainers worldwide, all players will unlock rewards, regardless of their individual contributions. The primary rewards include XP and Stardust bonuses for each Pokémon caught, which increase progressively with each completed level, culminating at four times the original amount at level six. This presents an excellent opportunity for dedicated players to accumulate significant experience points and Stardust, essential resources for enhancing Pokémon abilities in PvP or Raid Battles.

One of the most compelling reasons to participate in the Fidough Fetch Event is the opportunity for players to add Fidough and its evolution, Dachsbun, to their Pokédex following the completion of the second global reward level. Although these Pokémon may not dominate in battles, trainers will be eager to secure them as part of their collection. Furthermore, reaching the third reward level will unlock new field research tasks and spawn both Hisuian Growlithe and Greavard in the wild.
In addition to the tier-based rewards, players will benefit from increased chances of encountering Shiny Voltorb and Shiny Electrike during the event. This opportunity allows players to catch their evolved forms, Electrode and Manectric, in shiny variants, while other Pokémon such as Growlithe, Snubbull, Poochyena, and Lillipup will also experience raised spawn rates.
Overall, the Fidough Fetch Event presents an array of enticing rewards for Pokémon GO players, especially with the thrilling debut of Fidough and Dachsbun, making this an unmissable event.
