  • Players can earn various rewards, including unique housing items and the new minion, the Great White Tsuchinoko.

As part of the festivities marking the 2024 holiday season, Final Fantasy 14 has officially unveiled its cherished Heavensturn event, which takes place from New Year’s Eve through mid-January. Players are encouraged to partake in this lively celebration, perfect for expanding their collection of in-game cosmetics.

Heavensturn, held annually across the realm of Eorzea, mirrors real-world Lunar New Year customs, introducing various animal mascots to match the zodiac celebrations. Last year’s event for the Year of the Dragon gifted players a charming chocobo chick minion, adorned with decorations inspired by Seiryu, a significant figure from Far Eastern mythology and a formidable boss in the Stormblood expansion. The quests during the Heavensturn event typically feature a humorous and light-hearted theme, allowing players to complete them in a matter of minutes, offering a refreshing break from the more narrative-driven quests.

As the 2024 Starlight Celebration draws to a close, Square Enix will launch a new quest to greet the new year. Per Square Enix’s announcement, the 2025 Heavensturn festivities are set to begin on December 31 at 10:00 AM Eastern and will conclude on January 16 at 9:59 AM Eastern. This gives players just over two weeks to participate in this seasonal event.

During the limited-time quest, players can unlock exciting rewards that include two exclusive housing items: the Oriental New Year’s Meal and the Springtide Fan Stand, along with a new minion named the Great White Tsuchinoko. This adorable serpent, wrapped in mochi, draws inspiration from the Great Serpent of Ronka, a fan favorite among the minions in Final Fantasy 14. In addition, players can look forward to discounted rewards from past Heavensturn events available on the Final Fantasy 14 Online Store starting December 31.

Looking ahead, despite Square Enix’s significant updates, including the launch of Dawntrail and a major graphic overhaul in 2024, the upcoming year promises busy times for Final Fantasy 14. Excitement builds as players anticipate what new content Square Enix will reveal during this Year of the Snake.
