This month, Square Enix unveiled the PC version of Final Fantasy 16, with the Standard Edition priced at $49.99 and the Complete Edition (which includes both expansions) available for $69.99. In addition to releasing the Complete Edition on the PlayStation Store, the company has also announced a permanent price cut for the Standard Edition.
Like its PC counterpart, Final Fantasy 16 is now available on PS5 for just $49.99. This pricing is a solid offer, especially since it may drop further in upcoming sales, though it highlights the game’s somewhat disappointing sales performance. While it sold over three million units in its opening week, Square Enix has indicated that the overall profits from the title (alongside Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth) fell short of their expectations.
As the publisher pivots to a multiplatform approach, it remains uncertain whether Final Fantasy 16 will be released for Xbox Series X/S. Insider NateTheHate mentioned last month that a launch for Xbox is “going to happen,” suggesting he is simply waiting for an official announcement.
