Yoshida highlighted that this year marks a milestone—the 15th anniversary of his leadership in steering Final Fantasy 14. He took over following the tumultuous launch of Final Fantasy 14 version 1.0, which faced significant backlash due to technical failures and gameplay shortcomings. His decisive actions included a narrative-driven shutdown, culminating in a dramatic event where Bahamut ravaged the world, setting the stage for a triumphant relaunch as A Realm Reborn in August 2013.
