First Cyberpunk 2077 Skin in Fortnite Is Not the Only One of Its Kind

Recently, an insider known as SamLeakss revealed exciting news about an upcoming collaboration between Cyberpunk 2077 and Fortnite. Contrary to initial assumptions, this crossover will focus on the Cyberpunk game rather than the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime. SamLeakss hinted that the partnership would offer more than just themed vehicles, which aligns perfectly with Epic Games’ history of frequent crossover events. Considering CD Projekt Red’s previous collaboration with Epic Games to introduce The Witcher cosmetics into Fortnite, the notion of a Cyberpunk crossover appears highly plausible.

On December 22, Epic Games confirmed that new Cyberpunk 2077-themed cosmetics would be making their way to Fortnite. Players can expect the introduction of two new skins: one inspired by the female protagonist V, and another based on the iconic rockerboy Johnny Silverhand. Additionally, the update will feature various noteworthy items, including a Mantis Blade harvester, a Quadra Turbo R vehicle, and a Night City Lights wrap. While the new skins generated excitement, it’s noteworthy that the Johnny Silverhand outfit isn’t the inaugural appearance of his character in the realm of Fortnite.

Johnny Silverhand: A Rebellious Rockerboy Played by Keanu Reeves

For those unfamiliar, Johnny Silverhand is a pivotal character in Cyberpunk 2077. He is a rock star turned guerrilla fighter who famously attacked the headquarters of the powerful Arasaka Corporation, a catastrophic event known as the Night City Holocaust. Though Silverhand was captured and killed shortly after his notorious bombing, his consciousness was preserved on a chip called an engram. Decades later, this chip integrates into V, the player-controlled character, leading to a struggle for dominance over V’s own mind.

Portrayed by renowned actor Keanu Reeves, known for his roles in John Wick and The Matrix, Johnny Silverhand not only benefits from Reeves’ voice acting but is visually modeled after him as well. It is relatively rare for a high-profile celebrity like Reeves to take center stage in a AAA video game, particularly as a character with extensive dialogue, making Silverhand a standout role.

The John Wick Skin’s Presence in Fortnite

Interestingly, the Johnny Silverhand skin marks Reeves’ second character representation in Fortnite. Previously, Epic Games collaborated with Lionsgate to introduce a John Wick skin during Fortnite’s ninth season in May 2019. This Legendary outfit was accompanied by a selection of themed cosmetics, allowing players to embody the infamous assassin while utilizing items such as a Katana pickaxe and themed emotes.

With two Fortnite skins modeled after him, Keanu Reeves offers a unique experience that few other games can replicate. The John Wick outfit continues to be available in the Fortnite store for 2,000 V-Bucks (approximately $16), while the new Johnny Silverhand costume is priced at a more accessible 1,500 V-Bucks ($11.99). Players can enjoy the thrill of stepping into the shoes of Keanu Reeves, showcasing a crossover that captures the essence of both the Cyberpunk universe and the dynamic world of Fortnite.
