First Look at Predator vs Spider-Man: Marvel Teases Exciting 2025 Release

Peter Parker, better known as Spider-Man, is no stranger to formidable foes, yet his forthcoming encounter with the Predator promises to challenge him like never before. In this latest crossover event between the Marvel Universe and the realm of Predator, the beloved wall-crawler is set to face a Yautja that defies traditional codes of honor, escalating the stakes in a way that may leave him longing for the familiar confrontations with villains like the Green Goblin.

Recently released solicitations from Marvel unveil exciting details about the upcoming Predator vs Spider-Man miniseries. Crafted by the talented Benjamin Percy (known for Predator Vs. Wolverine) and illustrated by Marcelo Ferreira (notable for Amazing Spider-Man: Blood Hunt), this four-part series introduces “Skinner,”a Predator whose disregard for the usual Yautja code leads to unprecedented chaos in New York City.

A scorching heat wave plunges New York City into darkness, leaving Spider-Man patrolling the streets as tensions rise among its citizens. However, lurking in the shadows of its sewers and subways is a dread unlike any other. Enter “Skinner,”a Predator with neither honor nor clan—only an insatiable thirst for blood.

Drawing parallels with the iconic Predator 2, this new series places a Yautja in an urban setting, testing Spider-Man’s resolve to protect innocent lives in the Big Apple. In an exclusive interview with Marvel, writer Benjamin Percy shared his excitement:

Spider-Man is at the top of every writer’s wishlist. I’m thrilled and grateful to get this opportunity, putting this beloved webslinger against the galaxy’s greatest hunters in the urban wilderness of New York. It’s so much fun to live in Peter Parker’s world — and to put my own wild spin on his relationship with MJ, Jonah Jameson, and (yes — oh, hell yes) Kraven. Marcelo Ferreira captures the visual dynamism of Spidey so well, and we’ve had a lot of fun designing a Predator that is unlike any other. This Yautja — who we’re calling Skinner — has no code or clan. He’s the perfect nightmarish foil to the big-hearted Parker.

It’s Exactly Spider-Man’s Luck to Encounter the One Dishonorable Predator

Wolverine and Black Panther Already Faced Their Own Yautja

Marvel has been expanding its universe by publishing Predator and Alien comics under its new 20th Century Studios imprint, allowing for crossover opportunities where legendary heroes like Wolverine, Black Panther, and the Avengers faced these iconic extraterrestrials. In contrast to Wolverine’s confrontations with an honor-bound Yautja and Black Panther’s battle against an invasion targeting Wakanda, Spider-Man is primed for a gritty, personal skirmish with a relentless hunter. Notably, the introduction of Kraven adds another layer of complexity to this title’s intense narrative.

While Spider-Man is known for his empathetic approach to villains, the character of Skinner presents a unique challenge. Nothing short of death will deter this Predator from its hunt. The stunning variant cover by Ryan Brown vividly captures the escalating conflict, hinting at the enemy’s severe threat as Spider-Man’s costume lies in tatters, signaling the intensity of their battle.

Marvel’s recent Predator vs… series has proven to be a dazzling amalgamation of superhuman abilities clashing with advanced alien technology. Equipped with enhanced strength, Spider-Sense, and agile web-slinging, Spider-Man has an edge over most adversaries, but with a Predator that will stop at nothing to seize its target, every advantage may be put to the ultimate test.

Be prepared for the pulse-pounding action of Predator vs Spider-Man #1, scheduled for release on April 23, 2025, from Marvel Comics.
