As a devoted admirer of Bruce Springsteen, I must point out that “I’m On Fire” was released after Nebraska. Nonetheless, I couldn’t resist a clever play for the headline! I’m genuinely thrilled to share the first glimpse of Jeremy Allen White portraying the Boss.
Jeremy Allen White takes on the iconic role of Bruce in the forthcoming film Deliver Me From Nowhere. The movie is set against the backdrop of Springsteen’s songwriting for the Nebraska album. As a personal note, I even have a tattoo inspired by that album, as it holds a special place in my heart. Just give “Atlantic City” a listen, and you’ll struggle to convince me it isn’t among the most beautifully crafted songs in existence—it’s simply flawless!
An initial image from the movie has surfaced online, igniting excitement among fans as they finally see White embody the Boss.

Anticipation is high for White’s portrayal. “He’s quickly becoming one of my favorite actors; I can’t wait to view this biopic when it releases next year,” noted one user on X. Another user remarked that this role could be another triumph for the actor, stating, “Jeremy stepping into Bruce Springsteen’s shoes is guaranteed to offer a mesmerizing performance.”
This isn’t White’s first experience portraying a real person; he recently played Kerry Von Erich in A24’s The Iron Claw. However, depicting Springsteen at this pivotal moment in his career presents an intriguing opportunity that I’m fully onboard with.
More Biopics of Artists Like This, Please!
I’m delighted to see A Complete Unknown and Deliver Me from Nowhere releasing in succession. As a huge Bob Dylan admirer and a longtime Springsteen fan (his concert was my first), I find biopics like these truly special because they focus on specific moments in musicians’ careers.
Often, biopics attempt to encompass the entirety of a person’s life, which can lead to essential details being overlooked in the rush to cover everything. Highlighting a particular album or an early phase of their career fascinates me. Perhaps it’s just a sentiment reserved for these two cherished artists, but I firmly believe that exploring the ascent of an iconic musician is far more engaging than cramming their life into a single film.
I can anticipate an emotional experience while watching this film. Nebraska has been a source of comfort for me over the years. Just the thought of hearing “Atlantic City” framed within the context of the story brings me to the verge of tears. I sincerely hope that others find similar joy and healing from it as I have. The sight of White embodying the Boss, fully channeling Springsteen’s distinct New Jersey essence, only heightens my excitement!
I eagerly await how this film will shine a light on Bruce’s life—and if it includes a cover of one of my all-time favorite songs? That would just be the icing on the cake.
