The new PlayStation 5 Pro introduces three key enhancements compared to the base model:

  • A larger GPU that supports 60 FPS in Fidelity mode.
  • Advanced Ray Tracing effects to deliver superior graphical fidelity.
  • An AI-driven PSSR upscaling feature that significantly improves image quality at 4K resolution.

With these upgrades, players can expect enhanced games to provide clearer visuals and reduced blurriness, as the older FSR 2 upscaling technology is replaced with the new AI-powered PSSR tech. Additionally, the new titles can now achieve 60 FPS in Fidelity mode, a capability that was not available on the base PlayStation 5.

The pricing for the PS5 Pro is relatively high and currently does not include any pre-order bundles or accessories, which may leave some fans disappointed. Nevertheless, it is likely that Sony will announce bundled deals as we near the release of the new console on November 7, 2024. The PlayStation 5 Pro will also retain compatibility with existing accessories.
