The Pokémon TCG Pocket has recently unveiled exciting updates, notably through a leaked promo card that shines a light on an often underrated Generation 1 starter. This fresh wave of enthusiasm comes alongside the release of the Mythical Island mini-set, which introduces 86 new cards to the game, complementing the nearly 300 cards that have been released as part of the Genetic Apex set. As part of its rollout, players can look forward to engaging events and promotional cards that will reward their participation.
The Mythical Island mini-set is primarily themed around the first Mythical Pokémon, Mew, while also incorporating Celebi, the second Mythical Pokémon. Collectors will find a variety of new cards, including alternative designs for existing cards, as well as additional promo cards that will soon arrive. Although detailed information regarding upcoming events and their associated rewards is still under wraps, recent leaks indicate exciting content planned through February 2025, including a dedicated promo card highlighting an underrated Generation 1 starter.
New Pikachu Promo Card Features All Five Gen 1 Starters
Nine Promo Cards Were Leaked For Pokémon TCG Pocket
A standout among the leaked cards is the upcoming Pikachu promo card, recently showcased by Centro Leaks on X (formerly Twitter). This card features a delightful illustration with Pikachu at the forefront, celebrating alongside all five of Kanto’s starters, including Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and Eevee.
In total, nine promo cards have been flagged as recently leaked, among them a Special Illustration Rare version of Blastoise and a Moltres ex. This broad selection promises to enrich the gaming experience for players eagerly awaiting new content.
Eevee Is More Than Deserving Of Being Considered A Gen 1 Starter
The Normal-Type Became A Starter With Let’s Go, Eevee!
Although Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle remain iconic as the original starter trio from Kanto, Pikachu and Eevee have also solidified their status in the franchise’s lore. Pikachu gained attention as a starter in Pokémon Yellow, although it did not feature as one in the FireRed and LeafGreen remakes. It returned prominently in the Let’s Go, Pikachu! alongside Eevee in Let’s Go, Eevee!, effectively giving Eevee a shot at starter status.
The delayed recognition of Eevee as a Gen 1 starter is a long-overdue acknowledgment that this Pokémon rightfully deserves. The latest promo card celebrates that journey, highlighting Eevee’s significance within the Pokémon universe. As the Pokémon TCG Pocket continues to expand its offerings on iOS and Android, players can anticipate more cards, contributing to an increasingly diverse and engaging gameplay experience.
