Neuvillette stands out as a prominent character in Genshin Impact within the region of Fontaine, serving as the Chief of Justice. Renowned as the Hydro Dragon, his reputation suggests he possesses enhanced strength compared to many other characters in the game.
His gameplay revolves around a powerful Charged Attack, launching a significant torrent of water long distances. Both his Skill and Burst abilities facilitate this charging process by generating Sourcewater Droplets, which effectively reduce his charging time to an instantaneous cast. To maximize Neuvillette’s potential, players must not only master the Droplet mechanics but also incorporate frequent Elemental Reactions into his team composition to optimize his second Ascension passive.
Updated on December 11, 2024, by Nahda Nabiilah: With the introduction of stronger supports in Genshin Impact, Neuvillette continues to rise in prowess. He remains one of the top DPS characters, largely due to new characters enhancing his damage output. Both Furina and Xilonen have proven formidable in tandem with Neuvillette, with Xilonen outperforming Kazuha in reducing enemy resistance while boosting Hydro damage. This article will continually update to include the most effective Neuvillette team compositions, showcasing talents like Furina and Xilonen.
1 Neuvillette + Furina + Xilonen + Zhongli
Including Zhongli and Furina in Neuvillette’s team significantly enhances his Charged Attack, enabling some of the highest damage outputs in Genshin Impact. Furina complements Neuvillette’s damage significantly, aligning perfectly with her Elemental Burst requirements. Zhongli provides a shield and lowers enemies’ Hydro resistance, boosting the effectiveness of both Neuvillette and Furina’s damage.
Additionally, Xilonen brings extraordinary advantages to this formation through her debuffs, synergizing seamlessly with her artifact set, Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City, which provides a remarkable 40% bonus to Elemental Damage. Moreover, her signature weapon, Peak Patrol Song, grants around 25% additional damage to the team, making her a pivotal asset.
While Xilonen’s inclusion may challenge Neuvillette’s first Ascension passive due to triggering Elemental Reactions, it remains feasible to maximize his stacks via Hydro Crystallize reactions. With the correct buffs and debuffs in place, Neuvillette’s strike potential surpasses previous optimal configurations featuring Furina, Zhongli, and Kazuha, as the new team’s bonuses last longer, keeping Neuvillette active for an extended period.
Team Roles
- : Main DPS, Hydro Enabler
- : Buffer, Sub-DPS, Hydro Enabler
- Xilonen: Support, Buffer, Debuffer, Healer
- : Support, Shielder, Debuffer
2 Neuvillette + Furina + Kazuha + Zhongli
This team composition is expertly designed to maximize Neuvillette’s damage output while ensuring his protection. The synergy between Neuvillette and Furina is exceptionally beneficial, as their abilities align perfectly. Furina thrives on having her team fluctuate between losing and regaining HP, which pairs exceptionally well with Neuvillette’s ability to drop his HP and regain it swiftly, fully capitalizing on Furina’s potential without requiring a dedicated healer.
To maintain Neuvillette’s constant offensive pressure, Zhongli provides an invaluable shield and mitigates enemies’ resistances, augmenting the Iudex of Fontaine’s capabilities. Kazuha’s role is pivotal as he gathers enemies together, significantly reducing their resistances and amplifying Neuvillette’s Hydro damage. This team configuration remains one of the most effective across Genshin Impact.
Team Roles
- : Main DPS, Hydro Enabler
- : Buffer, Sub-DPS, Hydro Enabler
- : Buffer, CC, Debuffer (with VV)
- : Shielder, Debuffer
3 Neuvillette + Sucrose + Lisa + Ororon
This budget-friendly team leverages Sucrose, Lisa, and Ororon, focusing on enhancing Electro-charged reactions. With dual DPS in Neuvillette and Ororon, complemented by the support roles of Sucrose and Lisa, this composition thrives on Neuvillette’s ability to maintain Hydro application alongside his high damage output.
Lisa and Sucrose provide crucial debuffs to enemies’ DEF and RES, amplifying the Electro-charged reactions in addition to boosting Neuvillette’s damage. Optimizing Lisa with a complete Noblesse Oblige set ensures she delivers a 20% ATK boost while maximizing her Elemental Mastery. Additionally, she can utilize the Hakushin Ring, increasing overall buff to Hydro and Electro damage. Sucrose can be equipped with a 4-piece Viridescent Venerer set to further decrease enemies’ Hydro and Electro resistances with her Swirl reactions.
Adding Ororon to this team enhances the Electro-charged reactions, activating his Nightsoul’s Blessing state while triggering significant damage increases for Neuvillette due to the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City effect. Within this state, Ororon amplifies his Electro damage output and can distract enemies with his Supersonic Oculus, greatly benefiting both Lisa and Sucrose who operate in static locations.
Team Roles
- : Main DPS, Hydro Enabler
- : Support, Buffer, CC, Debuffer (with VV)
- : Support, Buffer, Debuffer, Electro Enabler
- Ororon: Sub-DPS, Buffer, Battery, Electro Enabler
4 Neuvillette + Furina + Raiden Shogun + Nahida
Neuvillette’s prowess as a Hydro DPS makes him an ideal leader for a Hyperbloom team. With Furina enhancing his capabilities, Neuvillette’s Charged attacks can be devastating. Raiden and Nahida complement the setup perfectly, effortlessly applying Electro and Dendro reactions to generate Blooms and ultimately trigger Hyperblooms.
This formation can function effectively without a healer, as Raiden Shogun, Furina, and Nahida remain operationally efficient on the field, allowing Neuvillette to heal himself and harness Furina’s buffs consistently.
Team Roles
- : Main DPS, Hydro Enabler
- : Buffer, Sub-DPS, Hydro Enabler
- : Sub-DPS, Buffer, Electro Enabler, Battery
- : Sub-DPS, Buffer, Dendro Enabler
5 Neuvillette + Nahida + Xiangling + Zhongli
Leveraging Neuvillette’s Ascension passive, players can enhance Charged Attack damage by incorporating characters that trigger Hydro-related reactions. Consequently, it’s beneficial to have two additional reactive characters in the team.
This formation excels against bosses due to several factors:
- It encompasses three different elements that can interact with Hydro.
- Zhongli establishes reliable protection against interruptions, facilitating a smoother Charged Attack execution.
- Nahida consistently applies Dendro statuses, triggering elemental reactions whenever her Seeds of Skandha are active.
- Xiangling serves as an effective Pyro enabler, allowing Neuvillette to Vaporize his attacks.
The strategy revolves around using Zhongli’s Skill, followed by Nahida’s application on the enemy, telling Xiangling to unleash her Skill and Burst for burning. Subsequently, Neuvillette applies Hydro to maximize the Vaporize reaction with Xiangling’s Pyronado. Given Pyronado’s significant Pyro application, enemies will eventually be affected by both Pyro from Xiangling and Dendro from Nahida, thus enabling Neuvillette to Vaporize his Charged attacks efficiently.
Keep in mind that while this team excels against single targets, maintaining the Vaporize reaction can be challenging against groups of enemies. Players should also remain close to target enemies, as Pyronado has a limited range.
Team Roles
- : Main DPS
- : Dendro Enabler, Buffer
- : Sub-DPS, Pyro Enabler
- : Shielder, Debuffer
6 Neuvillette + Baizhu + Raiden Shogun + Venti
Baizhu’s healing and shielding capabilities empower Neuvillette to execute Charged Attacks without interruption. As the battlefield fills with Dendro Cores, Raiden Shogun can apply Electro to initiate Hyperbloom while also activating Electro-Charged for Neuvillette’s Ascension passive. Concurrently, Venti’s Swirl capabilities diminish enemy Hydro resistance while replenishing Energy for Neuvillette’s Burst. Moreover, Venti’s crowd control abilities enhance Neuvillette’s water torrent attacks, allowing him to efficiently target enemies caught within Venti’s Vortex.
Team Roles
- : Main DPS
- : Dendro Enabler, Healer, Buffer, Debuffer (Deepwood Memories)
- : Electro Enabler, Hyperbloom Trigger, Buffer
- : Debuffer (Viridescent Venerer), Battery, Crowd Control
7 Neuvillette + Nahida + Shinobu Kuki + Kazuha
Numerous compositions can optimize Neuvillette’s potential to trigger Hyperbloom, utilizing Dendro characters like Nahida, Baizhu, Dendro MC, Kirara, Yaoyao, and Collei. For the Electro aspect, choices include Kuki Shinobu, Raiden Shogun, Yae Miko, or Dori. The final slot can feature either Anemo or Geo characters, or another Hydro character to enhance survivability using HP boosts.
In this configuration, Kuki Shinobu triggers Hyperbloom with Nahida enabling Dendro reactions. While Neuvillette’s self-sufficient healing reduces reliance on Shinobu’s support, her healing remains effective against damage from other team members. It’s important to note that without a shielder, players must be strategic in positioning Neuvillette to prevent interruptions during Charged Attacks. Kazuha’s abilities help to debuff enemies’ Hydro resistance, enhance Neuvillette’s Hydro damage, and effectively gather enemies together. This role substitution proves advantageous compared to the Venti team, where Raiden Shogun easily synergizes with Venti’s Burst.
Team Roles
- : Main DPS
- : Dendro Enabler, Buffer, Debuffer (Deepwood Memories)
- : Electro Enabler, Hyperbloom Trigger, Healer
- : Debuffer (Viridescent Venus), Buffer
