Since her appearance on Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 1, Georgia Grobler has seemingly transitioned away from her initial career in yachting. During her time on the show, she served as the third stew, working alongside second stew Madison Stalker and chief stew Jenna Macgillivray. At the outset, Georgia faced challenges due to her limited experience in the yachting industry, feeling out of her depth. However, the support from Madison played a crucial role in preventing her from quitting, even as Jenna’s expectations weighed heavily on her.
As the season progressed, Georgia found her rhythm and became quite adept in the laundry duties. Her bond with Jenna grew stronger despite Madison’s less favorable feelings towards her. Additionally, Georgia harbored a minor crush on first mate Paget Berry, although Paget was in a relationship with deckhand Ciara Duggan, who ended her engagement with him in 2021. Ultimately, Georgia chose to keep their relationship strictly platonic, allowing for a friendly work dynamic.
Georgia’s Transition to Modeling
Following her departure from Below Deck Sailing Yacht, Georgia has ventured into the world of modeling over the past few years. Beyond modeling, she has a passion for singing and frequently shares her musical endeavors on her YouTube channel. Through her posts, it’s evident that Georgia has shifted her focus away from yachting, instead embracing opportunities for modeling, travel, and music. Additionally, she re-entered the Below Deck conversation after revelations from Mzi Dempers of Below Deck Mediterranean about their past.
Georgia and Mzi: A Shared History
In the wake of the Below Deck Med Season 6 premiere, new deckhand Mzi disclosed that he and Georgia had a brief romantic history. During an exclusive interview with CheatSheet, Mzi recounted that he and Georgia established a friendship in 2017. He described their connection as not quite dating but rather an understanding that involved casual hookups over time.
The two met in South Africa during a friend’s formal dinner invitation, a popular tradition in the region. Despite both pursuing careers in yachting, they initially reconnected on land rather than at sea. Mzi shared insights on how they bonded over their shared experiences in the Below Deck franchise after he returned from filming. Meanwhile, Georgia has shifted her focus entirely towards modeling and music following her time on BDSY, and it appears she is thriving in her new career.
Georgia’s Life in 2024
In 2024, Georgia has been vibrant and active, making strides in her personal and professional life. Her Instagram presence reflects a focus on achieving a well-rounded lifestyle. Although it appeared that she had stepped away from yachting after her debut on Below Deck Sailing Yacht, she seemingly returned to the industry between 2022 and 2023. Notably, her Instagram bio hints at her role as a chief stew. Amidst speculation about Daisy Kelliher’s future with the show, Georgia could potentially be considered as a replacement if needed.
Working on a yacht can be demanding, yet it offers opportunities for travel, which Georgia has embraced. In September, she was seen working on a yacht in Cannes, France, followed by her journey to Thailand, not for yachting but for training in Muay Thai through the Muay Thai Yoga Fitness Retreat Thailand. Throughout November, Georgia shared videos of her training sessions, showcasing her commitment to fitness and self-improvement. Although her Instagram hasn’t been updated recently, it’s likely she has returned to her professional responsibilities.
There’s always a possibility that Georgia may return to Below Deck Sailing Yacht in the future. With her increased experience, she could bring invaluable skills to the team, although fans hope her return would not jeopardize Daisy’s position.
Below Deck Sailing Yacht airs on Mondays at 9 p.m. EST on Bravo.
