On September 17, 2024, Rockstar Games launched a significant **GTA 5 update** for PC users, incorporating **BattlEye Anti-Cheat software** alongside addressing various known issues. However, this update inadvertently exposed some previously hidden data.

The Upcoming GTA 5 Expanded and Enhanced Version for PC: A Work in Progress

According to Tez2’s findings on X, the metadata discovered in the recent GTA 5 update suggests that the developer has been crafting a **”Gen9 version of #GTAV for PC” ** since earlier this year. This aligns with the **Expanded and Enhanced editions** currently available on the **Xbox Series X/S** and **PS5**.

The following screenshot showcases the **SteamDB App data**, purportedly related to the game’s **Gen9 version** on PC:

The **Grand Theft Auto 5 Expanded and Enhanced edition** on **PS5** and **Xbox Series X/S** boasts several exclusive features not available in the standard edition, such as:

  • Hao’s Special Works
  • HSW Performance Upgrades
  • Karin S95
  • Pfister Astron Custom
  • Coil Cyclone II
  • Imponte Arbiter GT
  • Pegassi Weaponized Ignus
  • HSW Specification Service
  • Premium Test Ride
  • Hao’s Special Works Race Series
  • Hao’s Special Works Time Trials
  • A brand new Main Menu
  • Career Builder
  • Career Progress
  • Enhanced visuals
  • Ray-tracing reflections
  • Faster loading times

If the **Gen9 version** indeed launches for PC players, they can anticipate access to similar features. Currently, the PC edition matches that of the **PS4** or **Xbox One versions**.

Players are advised to approach this information cautiously, as the discovery of a metadata file does not ensure a release, given that plans may alter at the developer’s discretion.
