GTA 6 Leak Revelations: How the Hacker Deceived Rockstar Games

It has been two years since one of the most talked-about events in the gaming world – the GTA 6 leaks of 2022. Over this time, we’ve gained insights into the situation and identified the individual behind the breach – Arion Kurtaj. Recently, fresh information has surfaced on social media, revealing how the hacker may have managed to leak one of the most eagerly awaited games in history.

In a post dated September 18, 2024, by @morsmutual_, a well-known account on X, it was reported that Rockstar Games provided them with new details about how Arion Kurtaj deceived an employee from Rockstar Games India and circumvented their security measures.

Anniversary of the GTA 6 leak incident reveals new insights

On the second anniversary of the notorious GTA 6 leaks of 2022, @morsmutual_ disclosed additional information about the event and its origins. As per their source, reportedly a contact from Rockstar Games, the hacker Arion Kurtaj employed a phishing email scam to manipulate a Rockstar Games India employee while they were remote working.

Furthermore, it was mentioned that the employee’s browser data was accessed at that moment, enabling the hacker to infiltrate their Slack channels.

They also shared intriguing details regarding the upcoming game. Allegedly, Rockstar Games India was tasked with developing the entire Vice Beach area of the map, indicating that the game’s map will be extensive, stating:

“…entire Vice Beach area of the map, which should say enough of how big this game is going to be”

The release of the game is currently slated for the fall of 2025. Despite circulating rumors about a GTA 6 delay, Rockstar Games’ parent company, Take-Two Interactive, recently confirmed in their annual report that they are on track for a 2025 release.
