The Horizon series continues to expand, and with exciting titles on the horizon, including Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered launching next month and LEGO Horizon Adventures set to follow shortly after, fans are eagerly anticipating what’s next. So, what can we expect from Guerrilla Games regarding the next significant project in the franchise? Will a new mainline single-player installment be released soon?
According to gaming journalist Jason Schreier, it seems that may not be the case. During a recent episode of the Spawn Wave podcast, Schreier revealed that Guerrilla’s upcoming project will likely be the cooperative game that was confirmed to be in development back in 2022. He added that the sequel to Horizon Forbidden West is still “a ways off.”
Guerrilla has previously acknowledged that work is ongoing for the next single-player Horizon game, although it has yet to be officially unveiled. According to Schreier’s insights, an official announcement may not be imminent.
In addition, there are reports suggesting that a Horizon MMORPG is in the works, developed in collaboration with NCSoft, which entered into a strategic partnership with PlayStation last year.
