By successfully gathering categorized groups of specific Pokémon, players can often trigger surprise secret missions that bestow rewards such as pack hourglasses and shop tickets. The initial expansion, Genetic Apex, featured seven secret missions, while the Mythical Island expansion adds four new missions, a total that aligns with the smaller scope of this release.

Similar to the secret missions in Genetic Apex, the newly introduced challenges in Mythical Island primarily focus on collecting specific types of Pokémon. Achieving these missions generally requires pulling some of the set’s rarest cards, which may prove challenging—particularly for players who opt not to spend money on Pokémon TCG Pocket. With Pack Points being non-transferable across sets, completing these missions shortly after launch will require considerable luck.

Additionally, completing these missions will necessitate obtaining various other rare cards.

To successfully complete Mythical Island Museum 1, players must collect six distinct full-art Pokémon cards from this new set. Each of these cards is classified as one-star, with a mere 0.428% chance of being pulled from a Regular Pack. Alternatively, they can be purchased at a cost of 400 Pack Points each, which equates to the equivalent of opening 80 Mythical Island packs. If this sounds daunting, it’s important to note that this mission isn’t even the most challenging in the Mythical Island set.

Upon completing this mission, players will earn 12 Pack Hourglasses, 36 Wonder Hourglasses, and 10 Shop Tickets. Though earning a single pack and a possible Wonder Pick might feel underwhelming, lower expectations for other secret missions may provide a more realistic outlook.

The Mew Ex Museum challenge entails collecting every version of Mew ex available in the Mythical Island set. This includes four distinct versions, ranging from four-diamond (0.333% drop rate) to the coveted crown (0.040% drop rate) in Regular Packs. The other two variants of Mew ex are both two-star cards, each with a drop rate of only 0.050%. While drawing all four versions appears improbable, acquiring them through Pack Points is even more daunting. To obtain all four would cost 5500 Pack Points, equivalent to around 1100 packs. These cards boast an offering rate of 3.913%, significantly more favorable than the other cards listed. Nevertheless, players must also obtain immersive Mew ex and Celebi ex, which each have a drop rate of 0.050%. Successfully partially completing this quest early on may create the impression that it is comparatively easier.

The alluring reward for this mission is a special Celebi emblem for players to flaunt on their profiles, offering nothing more than bragging rights. While this reward may appear less thrilling compared to a unique card from Genetic Apex, it serves to alleviate frustrations associated with hidden unique cards in secret missions. A unique artistic treatment of a card from this set could also serve as an engaging compromise.
