Upon discovering the concealed entrance beneath the Fountain of Confession in Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, players will encounter two fiery trials. After navigating the perilous swinging blades in the Chamber of Tribulations, you will arrive at the Monastery Courtyard. Here, you must successfully complete both the Silver and Gold Trials to advance your journey.
The Gold Trial presents a significant challenge, as players often find themselves without clear guidance. Engaging in a bit of trial and error is essential to understanding the mechanics at play, and success hinges on your ability to manage your health throughout the ordeal.
How to Successfully Navigate the Gold Path Trial
To initiate the Gold Path Trial, ascend to the deck of the Monastery Courtyard and pull the lever located on the right. This action triggers the golden dragon statue, laying bare the path to the trial.
Accessing the Gold Path Trial Room
As you approach the trial room’s entrance, you’ll discover it is locked. To gain access, turn your gaze to the left and identify a small hole in the wall. Entering this hole leads to a confined area containing a pressure plate.
In this hidden room, seek out a bust positioned along the right side of the wall. Collect it and place it on the pressure plate to unlock the door. Afterwards, retrace your steps through the hole and proceed through the newly accessible entrance leading into the Gold Path Trial.
Before entering the trial, it’s worthwhile to explore a small room located to the left immediately after exiting through the hole. This area contains a secret artifact awaiting discovery.
Aligning the Furnaces for Success
Upon entering the trial room, advance until you reach the end where a lever awaits. Resist the temptation to pull it immediately, as the intense heat will quite literally burn Indiana Jones. Instead, turn left into a corridor equipped with chains.
Your task is to manipulate the chains to reposition the furnaces correctly, thereby reducing the heat intensity beneath the lever. Adjust each chain until the area directly under the furnace begins to glow with an inviting heat. For optimal positioning, the first furnace should be closest to Indy, while the second requires placement just before the last one.
Conquering the Gold Path Trial
Once the furnaces are properly aligned, activate the lever to open the exit, thereby marking your successful completion of the Gold Path Trial.
Advance further until you reach a platform with a chain suspended in the middle. Pull this chain to summon statues that hold bowls of fire. Now, exit the room and notice the magma pooling in the forge on the right. Utilize your bullwhip to release water onto the molten area and retrieve the Golden Key, which grants entry to the Ornamented Door.
If you have already undertaken the Silver Path Trial, you will find that the Ornamented Door opens, enabling Indy to move forward in the main mission.
