Guide to Obtaining the Camera in Indiana Jones & The Great Circle

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle immerses players in the iconic character’s adventures while adding a unique twist by allowing you to capture the journey through photography. Developed by Bethesda, this latest entry offers a rich narrative filled with challenging puzzles, exciting exploration, and encounters with nefarious Nazis, starting right in the heart of Vatican City and eventually spanning the globe. The intricate puzzle mechanics in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle are designed to enhance gameplay, providing players with the skills needed to navigate numerous challenges throughout the adventure.

A key gameplay feature is the photography aspect, where players can document Indy’s escapades and take essential notes to unravel various mysteries, such as those found in Fortune’s Reach. The camera plays a crucial role in solving major puzzles, offering hints and encouraging players to analyze their surroundings effectively—especially after snapping a photo of a puzzle’s focal point. However, acquiring the camera is an adventure in itself, as it is not part of the initial inventory, making the quest to obtain it an exciting aspect of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

The quest to acquire the Camera begins in Vatican City. Since players do not start with this essential item, progressing through introductory quests is necessary to obtain the Clerical Suit disguise. Upon exiting the Apostolic Library, navigate to the Belvedere Courtyard and then take a left onto the next street. Your goal is to reach Via Di Belvedere, where you’ll encounter fascists blocking access to crucial areas—marking the start of an engaging challenge for Indy.

To gain entry, use creative parkour tactics to gather useful items while venturing toward the Post Office area. Numerous routes exist to reach your destination; however, the most straightforward involves heading to a small dead-end alley by the door. Nearby scaffolding provides the perfect vantage point from which you can safely launch your whip and remain hidden from the Blackshirts guarding the area.

By climbing this scaffolding, you’ll find yourself near a caffeinated observer who is blissfully unaware of Indy’s exploits. Once on the rooftop, make sure to check for the Adventure Book before observing the backstreet below. It’s crucial to remain cautious as your disguise loses effectiveness in this area. Utilize the conveniently located zipline to glide down to a low roof near the street, positioning you close enough to the Post Office to make your entrance through an open window, waiting for the guard and his dog to pass.

Upon reaching the back maintenance area labeled “Facchino,”you’ll encounter two priests blocking the door. After conversing with Ernesto, the maintenance worker, he’ll agree to sell you the Camera—for a price of 379 Lira. To afford the purchase, a little creativity may be required, potentially involving some stealthy tactics to relieve local Blackshirts of their wealth. Once you have enough money, interact with the Camera on the table to finalize the purchase, allowing you to tackle those tricky puzzles ahead and accumulate valuable XP.

How To Get Money In The Vatican

Steal Items & Money

Gathering money early in the game presents no significant challenge, especially with several enemy soldier tents scattered around The Belvedere Courtyard. Although the Camera itself is off-limits, you can easily pilfer tents for cash and other goodies from shelves and drawers. Stealth is vital in this process; avoid detection by guards as your disguise won’t be effective.

Should you attract attention, your best bet is to retreat to a safe locale—ideally a rooftop or another area outside of the restricted zone.

Additional money can be found in various locations, such as the backs of guard trucks around the Vatican, within a secret boxing ring, or on tables distributed throughout the city. It’s also wise to keep an eye out for lockboxes and chests, like the one located in the Belvedere Courtyard for those extra funds. Aside from obtaining the Camera, accumulating wealth early on is crucial for acquiring other items from the Post Office’s lost and found in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
