Guide to Unlocking the Wukong Stance in Black Myth: Wukong

The Wukong Stance is a crucial aspect of Black Myth: Wukong that, despite its importance in both narrative and gameplay, isn’t given significant focus by the game. Players first experience the Wukong Stance at the beginning of the main campaign as they take on the role of the legendary Stone Monkey, Sun Wukong, showcasing his remarkable abilities and combat prowess.

Subsequently, you gain access to the Wukong Stance again in Chapter 6, titled Mount Huaguo, after collecting the complete Monkey King’s set and the Jingubang Staff. From this moment, players can utilize the Wukong Stance, but only in Chapter 6 of Black Myth: Wukong.

However, there is a method to unlock the extremely powerful Wukong Stance outside of the final chapter, and this doesn’t involve mods.

Requirements for Unlocking the Wukong Stance in Black Myth: Wukong

To successfully unlock the Wukong Stance, players must essentially complete the game a minimum of three times within the same save file, reaching up to New Game+2. The key requirement for accessing the Wukong Stance is to max out all Relics available in the game, including the ultimate Relic – Freed Mind, which becomes accessible after overcoming Erlang, the Sacred Divinity.

Below are the necessary steps to obtain the Wukong Stance in Black Myth: Wukong:

  • Defeat Erlang, the Sacred Divinity to unlock the true ending of the game.
  • Progress into New Game+2, ensuring Erlang is defeated in each New Game+ playthrough.
  • Max out all Relic skills.
  • Equip both the Monkey King’s set and the Jingubang Staff to engage the Wukong Stance.

It’s important to note that while the Wukong Stance becomes available after defeating Erlang, the Sacred Divinity in New Game+2, it can only be genuinely utilized in the subsequent New Game+ cycle. Additionally, each New Game+ cycle dramatically heightens the game’s difficulty by enhancing enemy and boss health and damage output.

Finally, players must strive for the optional true ending on every New Game+ run. If players bypass the fight against Erlang, the Sacred Divinity, they will forfeit the upgrade point for the Freed Mind Relic. Fortunately, this battle is not progression-gated and can be attempted after achieving the regular ending.

Once you unlock the Wukong Stance, you can only activate it with the complete Monkey King’s set and the Jingubang equipped. Unfortunately, the Wukong Stance cannot be used with any other armor or weapon configurations. To activate the Stance, simply press the heavy attack button while equipped correctly.
