The highly anticipated Honkai Impact 3rd x Honkai: Star Rail Collab is set to launch soon across all global servers. This unique collaboration marks the first official crossover between HoYoverse’s two popular Honkai titles. While there have been existing overlaps through similar characters (known as EXPYs), this event will officially connect the two distinct Honkai universes.
A teaser for this collab was shared a few days ago on X and YouTube. Today, the official announcement for the Honkai Impact 3rd x Honkai: Star Rail Collab has been released. The upcoming section provides further insights into this exciting collaboration, including details on the main featured character and the anticipated release date.
Honkai Impact 3rd x Honkai: Star Rail Collab to Feature Sparkle
As highlighted in the Behind-The-Scenes video uploaded on Honkai Impact 3rd’s official YouTube channel, Sparkle from Honkai: Star Rail will be the central character for this collaboration. The Honkai Impact 3rd x Honkai: Star Rail Collab is scheduled for release on November 28, 2024, coinciding with the Honkai Impact 3rd v7.9 update.
The introduction of Sparkle in Honkai Impact 3rd may come as a surprise to players, considering she is an original character from Honkai: Star Rail. Some fans speculate that including a character who already exists in both universes may have been a preferable option. Nonetheless, the cheerful Masked Fool Sparkle is HoYoverse’s official choice for this crossover event.
The video also revealed that several storylines for the Honkai Impact 3rd x Honkai: Star Rail Collab were under consideration. These included potential confrontations between characters from the Astral Express and St. Freya. However, it is clear from the video’s conclusion that Sparkle will be making her debut in Honkai Impact 3rd.
This opens up the possibility for additional characters to make cameo appearances in future chapters or events of Honkai Impact 3rd, particularly those shared between both games, such as Bronya, Seele, Welt, and Himeko.
According to prominent leaker Dimbreath, Sparkle will be a playable Quantum Valkyrie wielding a Drive Core weapon. The leak suggests she might also be released with an additional skin. However, details regarding whether players will receive her for free or if she will have her own banner are still unavailable.
Moreover, Sparkle has already made her initial appearance in the current Honkai Impact 3rd storyline in v7.8 (ongoing on the CN server). It is anticipated that she will also feature in the main story of Honkai Impact 3rd v7.8 for global players, followed by her participation in the collab during v7.9.
