Recent leaks have unveiled images of Okhema, a pivotal city in Honkai: Star Rail 3.0, part of the upcoming destination known as Amphoreus, set to launch in January 2025. While the excitement surrounding this new locale is palpable, many players have noted its strikingly similar architectural design to a region from HoYoverse’s other title, Genshin Impact. HoYoverse has confirmed that Amphoreus will be featured in the upcoming content cycle, following the recent addition of Penacony earlier this year. Currently, aside from a few characters associated with Amphoreus, the official information is still scant.
Fortunately, the initiation of the Version 3.0 beta tests has led to a series of leaks that provide intriguing insights into the new content. Much of the leaked information focuses on new playable characters, including The Herta, Aglaea, and the Remembrance Trailblazer. Particularly noteworthy is the introduction of the Remembrance Path, marking the first significant new Path since the game’s debut in 2023. Additionally, leaks have hinted at the existence of treasure chests throughout Amphoreus, suggesting players will have a vast area to explore.
Newly Leaked Images of Okhema in Honkai: Star Rail
Heavily Inspired by Ancient Greek and Roman Cultures
The leaks specifically mention an area called Okhema, anticipated to be the central hub of the initial Amphoreus maps released in Version 3.0. A new batch of leaked images, sourced from a well-regarded leaker known as Uncle Baita and shared via a “Reliable”post on Reddit, sheds light on the design decisions that characterize Okhema. These eight images present a vast cityscape featuring expansive streets and monumental structures that suggest a significant scale.
Rumors indicate that the aesthetic of Amphoreus is heavily influenced by ancient Greek and Roman mythologies, which become apparent in the grand architectural style depicted in the leaked images. Apart from the city’s intricate designs, the visuals also showcase NPCs and previously leaked dinosaur mounts, indicating a new method of transportation within Okhema and hinting at the expansive nature of this region.
Similarities Between Okhema and Genshin Impact’s Fontaine Region
Many Observations Regarding Both Regions
While players unfamiliar with Genshin Impact may not sense the similarities, those who have explored the game’s Hydro Nation will likely find a notable resemblance between Okhema and Fontaine. The initial impressions from the leaked images reveal many common elements, particularly in the landscape. Distant silhouettes of towering mountains against a clear blue sky contribute a similar ambience to that of Fontaine, creating a sense of déjà vu for returning players.
Furthermore, substantial architectural similarities exist between the two regions. Key features such as vast stone streets and towering structures supported by grand pillars echo Fontaine’s style. Even the plant life featured in the leaked images shows a striking resemblance to the lush vegetation prevalent throughout Fontaine, including coniferous trees.
The water features captured in the leaks, including large indoor waterfalls and baths, evoke a direct connection to Fontaine’s landscape. Pathways maintained by substantial pillars give off a familiar vibe reminiscent of Remuria in Genshin Impact. Even the atmospheric lighting in both Okhema and Fontaine appears to share a similar aesthetic.
Nonetheless, it’s important to recognize that various features will set Okhema apart from Fontaine, such as the striking statue resembling an Atlas-like titan observed in the distance. Additionally, the character NPCs and architectural aspects seem more closely aligned with ancient classical inspirations than the slightly modern, France-inspired design of Fontaine.
These leaked images represent early visuals and may reflect a work-in-progress state. As development continues, adjustments to the visuals and ambiance could significantly differentiate Okhema from Fontaine. Currently, the aim for the developers is to build upon the visually stunning designs established in the recently released Penacony.
Even though the leaked images present a compelling preview, they should be approached with a dose of skepticism, as they may not accurately represent the final product. However, despite the notable similarities between Okhema and Fontaine, leaks indicate that Amphoreus has the potential to become one of the most expansive regions in the game. Players are optimistic that it will not only be vast but also rich with content as Honkai: Star Rail enters its third year.
