Recently, intriguing leaks have emerged regarding March 7th (Hunt) from Honkai: Star Rail, specifically concerning her unique Shifu mechanic and its potential synergy with characters from the new Remembrance Path. These revelations shed light on how March 7th can function as an essential support unit in a variety of team compositions within the game’s expanding framework.

Originally introduced earlier this year, March 7th’s Hunt form incorporates an exclusive mechanic centered on targeting allies to gain various buffs. This mechanic serves as the foundation for her build in Honkai: Star Rail, making the selection of appropriate companions crucial, as it can significantly influence battle outcomes.

If the selected Shifu is from the Harmony, Nihility, Preservation, or Abundance paths, the damage’s Toughness Reduction increases by 100%.

According to a leak from HomDGCat shared in a Reddit post, it appears March 7th’s Shifu mechanic is also designed to engage with Remembrance characters. If accurate, this would mean March 7th could deal bonus damage to enemies when targeting an ally from the Remembrance Path, thus enabling a fresh set of strategic combinations with eight playable paths now being acknowledged.

If the leaks hold true, Remembrance characters could be classified as DPS units concerning the Shifu buffs in March 7th’s gameplay. Traditionally, the Shifu mechanic maintained a clear distinction between DPS and support roles, with the notable exception of some Nihility characters like Kafka and Acheron. The introduction of Remembrance suggests a more flexible framework, enabling various characters to fulfill multiple roles, dictated by the capabilities of their memosprites.

Should these leaks be validated, the traditional delineation separating DPS from support within March 7th’s Shifu mechanic may diminish. Players will need to discern which paths enhance which buffs rather than solely focusing on character roles within their party when constructing teams.
