Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 Leaks Reveal Surprising Dinosaur Mounts

Excitement is building around Honkai: Star Rail as leaks regarding the upcoming 3.0 patch surface, revealing that players might soon have the opportunity to mount dinosaurs. However, it appears this feature won’t operate in a conventional manner. Version 3.0 is set to launch in a few weeks, following the recent debut of Version 3.7, marking the beginning of the game’s third year of content. Players will be transported to the planet Amphoreus, where the crew of the Astral Express will encounter new characters and tackle another crisis associated with the Stellaron. The developer has already teased an exciting lineup of characters from this new world.

As beta testing for Version 3.0 commences, numerous leaks regarding new playable characters have emerged, including The Herta, Aglaea, and the Remembrance Trailblazer. These leaks mainly highlight these new units, alongside minor system improvements. However, details surrounding Amphoreus remain scarce. Initial teasers suggest that this new destination draws inspiration from both Roman and Greek mythologies, with further insights yet to be unveiled. Fortunately, a recent leak sheds light on the potential for dinosaur mounts in Honkai: Star Rail 3.0.

According to a reliable leak from a user identified as Flying Flame, players may indeed have access to dinosaur mounts in Version 3.0 on Amphoreus. The leak, which gained traction on Reddit, includes a screenshot displaying a character riding a dinosaur-like creature on a scenic path lined with towering pillars. However, it was also noted that players will have limited agency regarding the direction of these mounts.

This means that the dinosaur mounts are unlikely to offer the same level of control as the surfboard utilized by Mualani in Genshin Impact, another title by HoYoverse. Instead, these mounts seem to function as a fixed means of transportation, guiding players along predetermined routes across key locations in Amphoreus. This design suggests a similarity to the Aquabus system featured within Genshin Impact’s Fontaine region, where mobility is limited but streamlined.

Implications for the Size of Amphoreus

The introduction of this mount system in Version 3.0 may serve as an indicator of the expansive nature of the maps in Amphoreus. Should players require mounts for navigation, it is plausible that the maps will be significantly larger. This could translate into a wealth of content; however, it might also signify extensive areas with limited interactive elements, necessitating the use of mounts to access more engaging experiences. While Penacony already showcases a large environment, Amphoreus might surpass it in scale.

As it stands, the details surrounding the dinosaur mounts in Version 3.0 should be approached with a degree of skepticism. The information shared by leakers may not be entirely accurate or could undergo changes before the official release. Nevertheless, the prospect of mounts does indicate that Honkai: Star Rail is poised for continued expansion as it approaches its third year of updates and content.
